5.0 out of 5 stars Better as a dvd workout then a tv workout, March 9, 2006
This review is from: Caribbean Workout: Aerobics and Kickboxing (DVD)
I first came across this workout show on Fit TV. I liked it but because of the commerical breaks it disrupts my flow and gave up on it. When it came out in dvd form I thought I would give it a try and after doing the 83minutes!!!! I can say I love it. I love how Shelley McDonald does a step/kickbox work out and a kickbox floor workout. She is not your typical instructor with the bouncy annoying factor. She is like a normal chick I would train at the gym with and she has a body that is fit and not over the top skinny or bulky. I highly recommend this video for anyone who is sick of paying $10 or more for a 30 minute work out. This one is broken up in 4 segments but instead of cooling down between each I just keep my heart rate up by doing a march and then start the new workout and stretch with the last work out and add my own stretches. I am hoping this video will help me get back in shape. I have a feeling it will. And I am now looking at buying more of these tapes in the series.

This review is from: Caribbean Workout: Aerobics and Kickboxing (DVD)
I've always enjoyed the Caribbean Workouts, and these are no exception. The aerobics DVD has two low-impact and two hi-low workouts, and the kickboxing DVD has two kickboxing routines and two step-kickboxing routines. This set comes with a total of eight routines, all of which are engaging, challenging, effective and, most importantly, fun. I'm not an expert, by any means, but I avidly enjoy aerobics routines, roughly 4-5 times a week for several years. It's important to me to keep a variety on hand so I don't get bored, but I find myself using Caribbean Workout routines over and over again. The only thing I will warn about is that two of the aerobics routines require a bit of room to be fully effective. Shelley McDonald has the participants march forward and back in several spots, and without a big room, you'll have to adapt the move. Not the DVD's problem by any means -- just something to keep in mind.

It's just okay. A bit boring with redundant moves. But it is verrry tiring, which for exercise, is a good thing!
