This Book IS the very BEST one that I have ever seen of its type. It's very well written and laid out with many colorful pictures of each brand with their individual histories & lots of information. In the back of the book there is a nice selection of Island drinks, and many that are accomplished with a blender.
As it has been in my life, I was professionally trained in the art of mixing a wide varity of drinks at a school in Hartford, CT called "The Bartending School of Mixology", and have owned a good sized cocktail lounge. Since that time years ago, I have acquired a taste for Mt. Gay Rum which is a very smooth blend. Personally, I ENJOY making a variety of blender drinks and have used this VERY SPECIAL book to create my own too. This book is well worth buying.

Lots of historical rum information. Showcases several (but NOT nearly enough) of the Caribbean's fine rums. It has insightful details on particular distilleries and specific subjective evaluations on numerous well-known rums and their aged, pedigreed versions. A fun and useful, well-illustrated handbook for any rum lover or person moving-up to this special spirit!

A fantastic rum book by world-renowned beverage consultant and friend, Robert Plotkin!
This book takes you by the hand on a virtual tour of the most famous rum-producing Caribbean islands. Explore the history, culture and tantalize your senses with the descriptions of delicious cocktails. This is Robert Plotkin's 10th book: you don't get to this point unless you are doing things consistently right. Keep this in mind as you flip the pages. Every word and every rum mentioned in the book deserve to be there. Whether you are a rum expert or a neophyte, you'll find this book educational and entertaining.
