If you have parents, buy this book!,

This review is from: Caring for Aging Loved Ones (FOTF Complete Guide) (Hardcover)
As a family physician, I care for patients every day who don't have a clue what to do when their parents need care. This book can help a family prepare for the eventual tasks that either are or will face them in the future (if a parent is still alive). This complete guide is medically accurate and chock full of wise advice. It's in my library and I highly recommend it to my patients.

This review is from: Caring for Aging Loved Ones (FOTF Complete Guide) (Hardcover)
This book has very practical information. As a Geriatrician, I frequently encounter patients and their families who have multiple questions regarding aging issues. Now, I have a tool I can share with them. It is easy to read and well worth the price. It would also be a wise gift.

Perfect reference for everything a caregiver encounters,

This review is from: Caring for Aging Loved Ones (Focus on the Family) (Paperback)
There are many "complete guides" to caring for loved ones; I've seen many of them, as I receive them from the publishers to review. This is one that I think really was a "complete guide" and having it from a Christian perspective (published with Focus on the Family) is a nice benefit.
The reading is not complex or dry. You will be able to quickly find information to reference. A lot of other books may help you with the nitty-gritty specifics of finding adequate care or learning how to cope with your parent's lessened independence, but this book has a wonderful overview, offering support and resources. It's a must-have for your shelf to reference back to for life-issues as they arrive.

This book gives the biblical basis for caring for aging loved ones. It also provides practical help, guidance and direction. Although I haven't finished reading it, so far I am pleased with the practical directions, the personal "testimonials" from actual caregivers, and the extensive information about where to look for outside assistance (websites, phone numbers, agencies, etc.)

This book has lots of good and helpful info you need to know when caring for your aging loved one. Tells you how to pick a nursing home and lots of other stuff. PLUS it's said in a language you can understand (layman's terms)...it really breaks things down for you. You will use this as a reference again and again just as I did.
