Though a little dated, (1999), this book hits at the essence of nursing, which is caring. The author shares great insight from her personal journey in nursing administration. This book hits home with me as a nurse, and it helps explain some of the frustration I see in staff nurses. Every nurse in an administrative position should read this book to remind them of the importance of caring for both patients and staff.

What an excellent book. Even though it is not the newest book I have purchased it is one I intend to read completely and keep for my library. The author talks in the first person so you know she is relating each chapter through personal experience.

I got this book for reference material on the Caring Theory in Nursing Administration. This book was invaluable. It was well written, easy to understand and easy to follow. I would suggest anyone who needs to look in depth at caring in nursing admin. take a look at this book. Its excellent.
