I had high expectations for this dollhouse based on the commercials. Unfortunately, it did not live up to my expectations. The pros - the face on the house is really cute. It blinks, its eyes move and the phrases are sweet. Also, it is double sided which has been helpful to encourage my girls' sharing. The cons - inadequate design. Don't get me wrong, it's not horrible, I just think there are better designs out there. Some of the floors are very narrow making play difficult. The others flip out to be wider, but if two floors on top of each other are flipped down, you can't reach the bottom one very well. The advertising is misleading. I couldn't find anywhere near 400 activities and I don't really see the educational value. There are probably 8 (maybe 9) sound buttons. If I had a do-over I would have spent my money on a Fisher Price dollhouse like Loving Family.

2.0 out of 5 stars A bit frustrating..., March 1, 2010

This house has an adorable concept. The sayings and all are very cute and the color scheme as well. Here are my issues:
1. The beautiful set of stairs leading up to the front door, which has a doorbell...but the door does not open. You have to walk around the house. This is senseless to me.
2. Almost none of the furniture fits into the house! You have to place it all on the floor outside of the house. As for the few pieces that do fit into the house, the floor is so flimsy that it is constantly snapping off at the hinge on the lower floors.
3. The sets that you buy for the house are very repetitive and you end up with multiples of each doll. This is only if you can find the sets of course because that is a mission all its own. The birthday table/ pizza party set has no chairs, but does have another little girl I don't need.
4. The stickers, O my, what a tedious job! God forbid you put one on the wrong side of the house or a little crooked, because you are not getting another shot at it!!!
5. The house that we purchased was not even painted as advertised ( the back wall of the house and all the flowers on it were just cream colored, not the pretty colors shown in pictures.
As for my next issue, This could be a pro and a con.
6. The 2 separate sides of the house... If you have 2 or more children that don't like to play to closely together this could be great for you. How ever, if you would like to play with your child...I found it extremely annoying to have to walk back and forth from one side of the house to the other in order to play in the different rooms. Perhaps if they had put all the bedrooms on one side and all the functional/living rooms on the other side it would not have been as bad. One other thing I just didn't get was that they found it necessary to make a bathroom with a sink and a potty but no tub or shower? Not a big deal, but just didn't make sense to me. If your going to play pretend in a bathroom what kid doesn't love a bath.

Overall, The concept is great and the decor is absolutely adorable, but the house needs considerable work as far as structural integrity. The additional packages available for purchase need to be much better thought out as well! No one wants multiples of the same dolls, or incomplete dining room sets. And if anyone was considering buying the RV van that goes with this set STAY AWAY! That thing was the cheapest hunk of plastic ever! And I am a very fair reviewer. I sat on this for quite a while. We returned the house and van and got the Loving Family Grand Dollhouse and I am so thrilled with it (even with the lack of furniture) that I really thought I should share our experience. Good luck, and hope this helps.

This is a wonderful dollhouse and is great for two or more children to play together at the same time without crowding each other too much. I want to let any parents purchasing this item in on something though. You can by the doll packs for a fraction of the price on the Learning Curve website. The packs go from [...] for the smaller packs to [...] for the more extensive packs. Shipping is reasonable and you will save loads over other websites for these toys. Good luck!!

3.0 out of 5 stars A fun toy that should be priced lower, October 19, 2008
= Durability:1.0 out of 5 stars  = Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars  = Educational:2.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: Caring Corners - Mrs. Goodbee Interactive Dollhouse (Toy)
I was recently chosen to receive the Mrs Goodbee Interactive dollhouse by Caring Corners and Cafemom as part of the influencer program. Part of the requirement was to write a review of the products I received I am very grateful for the toys. This is my honest unbiased opinion.

Part of the inWe got our house on a rainy Friday afternoon. Now, as every parent knows, a new toy on a rainy day is a God send! So I told my three year old daughter that I would give her a new doll house if she helped me pick up the living room so we had a place to set it up (being a rainy day it looked like a tornado had hit a toy store and dropped the contents all of my living room). Once the room was cleaned up I let her open the accessory package while I read the paper work that was included.

She received the family night play set which comes with a daddy doll, a tv with three 'channels" to switch to and a reclining couch. She was very excited about it and carried the box around. She did not ask me to open it which surprised me but as long as she was happy I was happy. I found a picture of the house and showed it to her and she 'owwed' and "ahhed" and called it 'cute'.

I read all I of the papers in the information pamphlet and we were finally ready to open the big box and set up the house. I opened the box and pulled out the house. She took one look at the giant face on the front, started crying and ran into her room yelling, "No! It's too big! It's too scary!" Once in her room she curled into a ball on her bad and covered herself completely up with her blanket, head included. She refused to leave her bed let alone leave her room until I put the house back into it's box and physically went in, picked her up, and carried her back into the living room.

I left the box in the living room for teh rest of teh night so she could warm up to it. Also my husband and I said how much fun it would be to play with and how pretty it was. We even had my parents talk to her on the phone as sawy how "cool" it was that she had a new doll house to play with.

Finally the next morning she agreed to play with it if both my husband and I were in the room with her. She loved it! She had a lot of fun playing with the baby and the little girl that came with the house especially. Despite the fact that the house makes make sound effects and sings songs she seemed to prefer using her imagination and making her own noises to the houses though she did hit the sound triggers as well. After this playtime she had one more incident of being afraid of it but since then she has played with it atleast once per day.

The negatives I see in the house are that it only comes with the children and the dog so you have to buy 2 accessory packs if you child(ren) want to have for their house. Also the house comes with a dog but as we have cats my daughter rarely touched the dog. instead she uses her Polly pocket cats for the house.

The price is also a negative in my mind. I would prefer the house to have fewer bells and whistles and cost less. Also for the price I would like to see more accessories included.

For our accessory kit my first complaint is that all pictures of the kit show that it comes with some video game or remote controls attached to the couch. Ours did not. Also the couch is advertised as reclining but that feature only works when there is not doll in it...the dolls weight counteracts the recline feature and it sits regular.

I would rate the hosue as follows (out of 5 stars):

Design - 3 stars
Fun - 5 stars
Accessories - 2 stars
Price - 1 star

Overall I would say it is a 3 star toy

2.0 out of 5 stars Not That Great Of A Dollhouse, January 1, 2009

I bought this dollhouse for my daughter for Christmas. She seems to realy enjoy the house but she gets frustrated. The Caring Corner furnature sets are not very sturdy and they don't stay on the floors very well. The TV and Chair constantly fall over. The bed slides around and falls off and the vanity is impossible to make stand up for any length of time. You should forget ever sitting the momma doll on the tiny stool in front of it. The front steps constantly pop off and so does the chimney. When you have it all set up straight its very flimsy and will fall over easily with a push.
In my opinion the dollhouse is not worth the high price and then when you buy the furnature that goes with it you have easily dropped over a hundred dollars into it. You can buy better made dollhouses for that amount of money.
The educational value is extremely limited too. I just don't feel my daughter gets much out of it. Yes, she does have fun with it but she will become easily frustrated with the furnature and the fact it tips easily.

3.0 out of 5 stars Cute toy but overall pretty disappointing..., December 27, 2008

My daughter recieved this dollhouse for Christmas and we were pretty excited to begin playing with it. The first thing I noticed when we started unpacking it was the poor construction and lack of color (unless you consider the add-on stickers, which I don't). The rooms are not large enough for the furniture that you purchase seperatly, unless your child does not want to actually play in the room but rather just have it set up for show. The "floors" flip down for storage, which makes the lower rooms practically unaccessible unless in their upright position (which would be folded up for storage). And when it is finally time to flod it up to store, where should you put all the furniture? You cannot leave it in the house bc of the flip-down floors. We had to undo all of the rooms and stash the pieces in nooks around the dollhouse. I know it is praised for its educational features but if your child has manners than the job is done. No dollhouse needed. Overall, we are very disappointed with Mrs. Goodbee and wish that we had spent out $150 (house + 3 playsets) on perhaps a Fisher-Price.

Santa brought this for my 3 year old daughter for Christmas. I was fun for all of 5 min. the stickers fall off, the chimney, front stairs and top swing fall off constantly. for the price of the doll house and the furniture I could have bought a tall wooden doll house and at least if she lost interest I could have used it for a book shelf.( there isn't even enough room to put the furniture in the house )

My daughters are ages 6 and 4 and they have not stopped playing with the toy since its purchase. The interactive house sings and teaches the children good deeds and treating others is rewarded and that is a lesson that is lacking in today's society. I highly recommend this product and it would make a lovely holiday gift for any lucky child.

My daughter loves this dolllhouse. Her Fisher Price dollhouse has been relegated to the closet since I brought this dollhouse home. The interactivity and positive reinforcement is great, but I think the coolest feature is that two kids can play with this dollhouse at the same time. The dollhouse has a unique hinge set-up that allows easy access for two kids. I'm not sure why they voiced the dollhouse with an english accent, but its kinda fun.
