This is a wonderful book! I have already recommended it to several friends and our vet. Easy to read- well organized. Some sad stories though. But as sad as they are, they are meant to "light a fire" under the reader, so that they don't fall into the same situations with their beloved feline. The writer is definitely passionate about her cats. Good to use as a reference book as well. Easy to look up symptoms, treatments, etc. A must read for all cat lovers.

I found this book very useful in finding ways to take proper care of my cat ERNIE in his senior years. Their needs such as possible change in diet and exercise and what to look for in spoting changes in their health(things you can do)and when to see the vet, are clearly explained. I highly recommend this book.

I received this book as gift and it is amazing. As the person of an older cat I have found it, even in just a few days, to be of extreme benefit. It is a comprehensive, well written, accessible guide to helping your best friend age. It makes getting older less scary and details how you can maximize your older pet's quality of life. There is medical advice from veternarians as well as pet owners on how to deal with the medical issues that inevitably come up. The book gives you the knowledge, guidelines, and options to confidently deal with and enjoy your future with your older cat.

In "Caring For Your Aging Cat" Janice Borzendowski has written a concise and eminently helpful feline health masterpiece. Books on kitten care are a dime a dozen, but this book deals with common (and more uncommon) problems associated with aging cats. The book discusses good health care practices, things to watch for, and treatment options, while always making it clear that discussing your cat's specific case with your veterinarian is of utmost import, and the sooner in any disease process that you do so, the more options your cat has for a longer and better life.
This book was able to help me realize that my 13 year old cat Neil (who has a few other health problems) was exhibiting symptoms of hypertension. When taken to the vet for a check, he did, in fact, have high blood pressure. A simple pill has made him feel much better. By being aware of symptoms of problems, cat owners have much greater insights into what medical conditions their feline companions are going through. Ms. Borzendowski does an excellent job explaining basics of senior feline health conditions, and I found the book quite useful and highly readable. The book also contains numerous references including web links and phone numbers of contacts that might be important in a variety of circumstances, including pet loss support groups for the pain that comes after losing a pet. This is a great book, and as long as I have a cat in my house, I will keep my copy handy. For people who live with cats, and especially aging cats, this is an indispensable reference and I recommend it highly.

Older cats need more TLC and monitoring. It is so important to make sure your pet is not suffering. I think with cats it is not always easy. This book will let you know some of signs to look for of a cat in distress.

We adopted an aging kitty (12 y.o.) 10 months back and have been having a difficult time finding information on taking care of her. Most books only has a few pages on geriatric cat care. This is the most resourceful and informative book I purchased regarding the care of my cat. Not only does it have information and it's easy to read, it also has a very comprehensive resource list.
