This diverse album is difficult to categorize, but it is well-distinguished by its rich, robust production and Carl Anderson's muscular, passionate voice. Slow ballads like "Friends And Lovers" (the timeless duet with Gloria Loring), jazzy soul like "C'est La Vie" and "Buttercup," and upbeat, danceable pop like "Can't Stop This Feeling" and "You Are My Shining Star" all tie together beautifully here.
