Grade 4-8-A portrait of the scientist, professor, author, and media celebrity. The authors do a good job of personalizing their subject and including the scientific aspects of his work in astronomy, especially his fascination and involvement in the search for extraterrestrial life. The text is clear, interesting, and easy to understand. Black-and-white photographs are of average quality but do provide some visual appeal. Sagan's personal life, including several marriages and children, is mentioned, but the main focus is on the man's legacy in the scientific community and on his ability to bring an interest in astronomy to the public. There is certainly enough material here for a basic research paper. Students may even be enticed to read Sagan's books for additional information and research.

Short, but informative... I really enjoyed the book. It was written nicely although doesn't talk in detail about his discoveries...
