When they say "bottles snap into place" they mean it. It's a tight fit for most any bottle, and I suspect this is so that it won't fall out easily. I was worried about pushing too hard, but sure enough the bottles I tried all fit in, albeit VERY snugly. Took a bit of muscle to get them in for sure. The tight fit is I suppose so you can pour it while still in the holder. But if you are using this just as a holder, it's too much of a hassle I think when there are other ones out there that just let the bottle slide in and out with ease.

So in summary, if you plan on POURING wine using this unit without taking the bottle out, then this is the holder for you. But if you like ease of insertion and removal of your bottle, look elsewhere.

Nice, elegant design and construction. The 18-8 stainless steel utilizes a satin-finish that gives the entirety of the product a slightly understated matte tone that effortlessly blends into the surroundings. Standard sized wine bottles effortlessly fits into the rig - just be sure the neck snaps in place so it doesn't slip out while pouring. Once your bottle is set into the holder it will sit at around a 25-30 degree angle so I find it best to pour the first glass into your vessel without using the holder and then snap it into place to avoid any tilt spillage. Overall a very handsome and functional product great for keeping an opened bottle of red ready to pour at dinner parties and such.

This product is solid across the board. Really good design, materials, and workmanship. The 18-8 stainless steel seems stronger than many comparable products I have looked at. The satin finish of the stainless steel matches our accent and appliances easily. We love the slight retro look of the holder as well. This product looks good on the kitchen counter or dining room table.

Some people have opined regarding the tight fit of the bottle. We prefer the tight fit because we use it largely to pour wine. However, if you are just going to use it as a holder, and remove wine to pour, you should consider this aspect, that for us is a feature.

Although this Stainless Steel Wine Holder by Carlisle has a pretty cool design, I am less than enthusiastic about it as a practical device. It was quite difficult getting the bottle into it. After a lot of trial and error, I did manage to get a normal sized bottle in and out of this device. It is actually quite handy and very easy to pour with once you get through the shock of figuring out how to get a bottle in to it!

For idiots like me, it might be safer to stick to a more traditional wine holder as this one didn't come with directions.

This wine rack looks nice. It is stylish and adds prestige to our dinner table. It holds bottles firmly. We can pour the wine while it is in the rack. Most bottles fit, but not all because bottles come in various shapes. It is best to pour the first glass before inserting the bottle to make sure there is no spillage, but this is not a requirement. I received the rack on condition that I write an honest review and I am very happy to have gotten it.

It definitely holds a bottle of wine, and has a nice modern look to it. But it's a bit cheap, that starts with the black outer box, almost a nice gift box but not quite, and then the actual wine holder is just a touch wiggly, even after tightening down the ball nuts, and up really close the two arms are bent slightly differently. That all said, step back a bit and you probably don't mind, but it would be a somewhat iffy gift.

Something of a delightful retro feel here, with stainless steal arcing around your nice bottle of wine, it brings some fun and elegance to the table while keeping your wine at a correct angle, but also is practical and allows for direct pouring using the simple locking system & handle. I don't think I've seen anything quite like it before. Love it.

Vine Customer Review of Free Product ( What's this? )
It usually takes me two or three days to finish a bottle of red wine (any longer than that and of course the wine doesn't seem to to taste as good). Anyway, white wine I'll stick in the fridge, but a bottle of red I leave out on the counter. This holder makes everything just look a little nicer. I do like that it has a handle to pour the bottle straight from the holder. I took off a star because it's definitely a little difficult to get the bottle into it. The design uses tension to keep the bottle inside and of course you have to fight that tension to get it in. Wine bottles tend to come in different heights and the taller ones are definitely more of a struggle than the stouter bottles. That said, I haven't had one that I couldn't get in. I find that holding the bottle of the holder with two hands and then pushing the base of the wine bottle down with my two thumbs seems to be the best technique. Overall, I do like the look and function of this wine bottle holder.
