I much prefer this to the heavier wooden paddles.

Over 30 years of paddling BWCA, lakes and rivers. Used a variety of paddles. Including many different wood paddles both cheap and expensive. I am no longer a wood snob. The plastic paddle is much easier to care for. Dont worry about damage by pushing off. No care needed for multi years. No longer have to re-coat and sand after a trip. This paddle is rigid enough and does not flex on the pull, as many sales people will tell you is the problem. Very fast paddle. Checked size at stores and then ordered online. Quick prompt service.

Paddles work fine (we bought two), and get you down the river, but leave your hands stained with whatever color they are (on the T-grip) by the end of your trip. Also, where the plastic meets the aluminum on the shaft, the plastic is raised and if you don't get the proper size, your hand will get irritated from rubbing on the raised plastic for the duration of the trip. I'd recommend this paddle to others, but with the same warning I'm leaving here.

I have a 57 inch of the same make and it is perfect. Inexpensive, light, floats, comfortable, and cheap. The spoon is not a large surface area so beware of that. You won't be making fast time paddling with this. However it does the job. At the price point you can abuse it annually and should you ever lose it you are not out much money.

The 60 inch is too long for me. Returned for shorter size. Im 5'11" and using a low profile canoe, Mad River Passage 14. the 57 inch length is the longest I would consider, shorter still would be better. The length of the paddle doesn't detract from the star rating the though. The 57 inch I own is great.

I have granchildren who find it difficult to use a large wooden paddle. The lightweight aluminum paddle is much easier for them to handle. The T-Handle makes it easier to instuct them in the proper way to hold the paddle.

I purchase a used and a new paddle from Amazon, when they arrived, I could not tell the used from the new. I won't have a chance to use them until next summer, but having used similar paddles before I think they will be fine for what I am using them for. I will use them for recreational paddling and some fishing. They look like they will work great for that.

feels like solid construction and can take some abuse. I'm 6'0" and it's a little long. 57' paddle would've been better.

Four & 1/2 feet is perfect for us! These paddles last forever and and the "T" handle is perfect to hold and to "grab" on to another canoe!!!
