No more pumping up my tire on my Scag..

This is a great replacement tire for my Skag mower and cost about half what all local dealers wanted for a similar product.

The tires were received in only 2 days and were in excellent shape when received.

This tire is a bargain compared to what my john deere dealership offered. They wanted $85 for the same ply tire. Some have said that the tire was damaged in shipping, but mine came in a plastic bag and wasn't folded over or anything. Only time will tell, but I think I'll get a lot of miles out of this tire.

Our lawn often has these goat head weeds that grow up in it and the burrs can flatten a tire in a heart beat. The old two ply tires I had were just about useless. These do not go flat. A good purchase.

These tires are a great quality upgrade from the Sears turf savers that came on my 1990 craftsman lawn-tractor. NOTE: As others may have commented, these tires were sent to me with plastic straps that deformed the tires original shape which made putting them on more difficult. Word to the wise, put a stick or something in side them to push the tread back out, while sitting in the hot sun for a couple days. despite them being out of shape and it taking some time to get them on...i'd do it again considering the quality of these tires. Carlisle do yourselves and your customers a favor and ship them each separately or put them in a freakin' box with no straps!!! You'll make your customers VERY happy and probably sell more tires! 4 stars because of that! Don't try putting these tires on without tire irons and at least one pry bar. I got these (Motion Pro 08-005 11" Tire Iron - Pair $9.99) and they worked very well. Expect at-least 30 minutes per tire for removal and installation. I had a couple that would not seat perfectly on the rim, so I heated the tire with a heat gun, used lots of soapy water on the tires rim and the rim itself, and kept filling the tire with air, releasing the air, and repeating until it seat properly, also helped to stretch the tire a bit with the tire iron before re-filling. Hope to post video later if it helps anyone else. :-)

This is a far better tire than what came on my riding mower. Inflation to twice the original pressure so tire feels considerably more stable on our hill. Construction seems to be very good so I expect it to last quite a few years.

I priced these exact tires out at my local commercial lawn care equipment distributor and at the regional discount tire chain. In both cases the tire was going to cost me around $110 plus tax. I've never bought tires from Amazon but checked them out on a whim. They had them and they were less than $70 delivered from Carlisle! I was so pleased! They arrived more quickly than most of my PRIME purchases even though they said it might take a day longer.
My experience has been that Carlisle tire last longer than off brand turf tires. I used to try and save money on knockoff brands but quickly learned that the useful life of off-brand turf tires is sometimes half of what I could get out of a Carlisle. I have observed this with several sizes of turf tires as well as trailer tires.
Performance Note: I got 700 hours out of these tires on the back of an Exmark Vantage. This usage would obviously be better or worse depending on many variables but its a good ballpark.

Kubota wanted $200+ a pop for these. However, the Kubota OEM's lasted 25 years, and still have lots of tread left. Me, running into a sharp rock dinged the sidewall enough to make a slow leak so annoying, I opted for replacements instead of tubes. The sidewall and tread age-cracks were obvious. It was time.

These Carlisle's seem to have much thinner sidewalls, yet boast 4-plies - as did the OEM's. The OEM's were 24X8.5-12's. But since no one makes an identical size, I went by "what's close." This is the only tire that came close. Don't let the extremely concave tread shape fool you. When properly inflated, a nice convex tread takes shape and looks just like the mounted - as shown.

So far, after one 2 hour mow, it performed perfectly. Talk to me in a year or two ;-)
