I love the Carl series! I've seen toddlers "read" the book to adults and siblings and they are so proud when they can actually read a book to others. With Alexandra Day's beautiful artwork, the gentle, silly story and most of all the sense of empowerment to a brand new reader - these books are all winners!

If I could I would give this book 10 stars. Every Carl book gets better. Can't wait for the next one to come out. The kids love it, they make up their own words to the story & it's not always the same.
We had babysitting dogs too.

You can't go wrong with Carl, whether you're a dog lover or not. You can't help but love Carl. You can start reading it to a 1 year old and they still enjoy Carl at 9, because you just add more to the story.

This was a gift for someone who had a "Carl Dog". He was thrilled and
thought th illustrations depicted his dog to perfection. All of the Carl
books are wonderful.

I really love the Carl books. I have all of them. Carl's Summer Vacation is another great book. I can't wait until another book comes out.

My daughter prefers Carl Goes Shopping and Carl's Birthday to this newest Carl. The illustrations are as always gorgeous, however.
