Product Description
Pomodorini as these tomatoes are known in Italy, are round tomatoes named for their resemblance to cherries in terms of size and sweetness. Carmelina ‘e… San Marzano® Cherry Tomatoes are packed whole in juice with the tomato skins on, and nothing else. Cherry tomatoes are excellent baked, grilled, or cooked quickly in sauces. Often cherry tomatoes are used when a recipe calls for the tomato skins to enhance texture.

Good flavor but not as plump,

These cherry tomatoes have a nice flavor although they sort of "deflate" if you cook them for more than a minute.
Even out of the can, if you pop one in your mouth, it feels hollow. Hard to describe. I added these tomatoes to a pasta primavera I made the other night and had to remove them from the heat after just a minute because half of them had already started to collapse. I shared this order with a friend so now I'm left with 11 cans and I think I'll use most of them in pizzas or to make quick sauces. And if that works out then I'll keep the Subscribe and Save on this item, otherwise I'll have to cancel. I can't recommend this product because, in my opinion, the tomatoes should be firmer and not collapse like these do. Also, these cherry tomatoes are not peeled. Prompt delivery, but six of the cans arrived dented.

I have purchased Mangia Carmelina brand before and I am very happy with them. Great taste and work great in soups and stews.
This latest version of canned cherry tomatoes is wonderful. Same juicy tomatoey flavour but with a nice twist. Use in tomato sauces or stews when you want the tomato but not all broken up. I would not use this is your finished item will be pureed, you will lose the red jewels that make this so nice.
