If you are going to buy a pole, don't waste your money on this one, and remember: you get what you pay for. When we set up the pole, we could not get it to support any weight without either the top or the bottom moving. When we grabbed the pole and pulled, the pole shifted and eventually fell down. No matter how much we tightened it, the pole still moved, which is obviously not something you want when spinning. And the bottom piece that is used to make the pole longer was made of plastic. We eventually stripped the threads trying to tighten the pole to make it sturdy enough to stop moving. We tried to put the pole on both tile and carpet flooring and neither worked. If you want a decent pole that you can trust to stay put, spend the extra money and get one that won't fall over. If you do decide to get this one, watch the dvd instructions and don't bother trying to assemble it with the written ones. It will take you all day to figure out something that should take less than 30 minutes to do.

Don't buy,
Please do not waste your money. I wanted to buy a pole that was inexpensive and portable, and I thought this was it. NOT!!! Don't waste your money, it's not even worth the $100.00 (which is really cheap for a pole.) If you're looking for a pole to do tricks and flips on...do not buy this one. Use it for posing; cause that's all it's good for. Just looking good. Don't risk your life and end up breaking something, buy a good pole. It's worth the money...in the long run.

Okay. Here are some things to keep in mind. This pole comes in three sections. It is not going to work like a standard one piece club pole. It will always be a little wobbly and shakey.
You will need to screw it into your ceiling. I did not screw it into the ceiling when i was doing some basic spins, because I am good enough where if the pole starts to slide, or move (and if you have set it up properly when it moves it will move Sloooooowly), I can get my feet on the floor. I did not set it up exactly as the DVD instructed, I twisted the top part until it was solid against the ceiling. Follow the directions, though, and screw it in. It's a very good pole for the price, but it's a little thick for me, and it took some getting used to. I recommend trying to heng from it and gripping with your thighs and hands for awhile, making ssure the pole can support your weight and that you are comfortable with it. If you put it up correctly and screw it in (you don't have to, but it's safer that way), you will be fine. You will probably be able to do inverts on it if you desire, but for that, make sure it is screwed in. The only problem I have with the pole is that the gripping part on the top took some paint off of my ceiling, and that the bottom anchor seems too flimsy. These are not exactly pressing concerns however, I really like the pole and I would recommend it to anyone who is starting out and wants to practice pole dance in their homes. As long as you treat teh pole well, it will treat you well.
