5.0 out of 5 stars Carmen Ramusen's EP is a HIT!
Can I just tell you how much I have enjoyed this CD. I wasn't totally a fan of Carmen on the show. But I have to admit that her music has grown on me and her country sound is awesome! Definately would recommend it to anyone!

1.0 out of 5 stars Horrid.
I wasn't a fan of carmen while she was on American Idol, but when my friend bought the cd I thought that I'd give it a try. Let me tell you, it is NOT worth the money. The songs are all the same; Fluff. Garbage. Pathetic. After listening to the cd, I came to the same conclusion about carmen that I had during American Idol; she has no singing talent!

5.0 out of 5 stars The Best I Have Heard Carmen Sing, June 10, 2005
This review is from: Carmen (Audio CD)
When Carmen was singing on the show, I could tell she wasn't fantastic, but I was still a big fan of her. She had some great ones on the show, but none as good as any of the ones on the cd. Every song is great in its own way. They all have originality to them. Even the two remakes seem very original. If you were not a Carmen fan when she was on the show, and heard the cd without knowing who it was, you would love it. Most people who dislike it do so because they know it's Carmen. The cd is great whether you're a fan or not.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Sounding, April 2, 2005
This review is from: Carmen (Audio CD)
Carmen was good on Idol...no one on the show has been able to top her rendition of Turn the Beat Around, though many have tried. But her country sound is great! And the title song was written by her as well. I hope that this is only the beginning for Carmen Rasmusen. I highly recommend for anyone who likes her, American Idol or country music. Shania watch out!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars A well-done debut, December 13, 2004

Let me preface this by saying that I am a HUGE fan of Carmen Rasmusen. I love female singers that have a husky, smoky tone to their voice, and I'm also a huge country music fan, so Carmen's voice is right up my alley.

The two Beatles covers on this EP are, in my opinion, minor strokes of genius. Carmen definitely puts an entirely believable country spin on "I've just seen a face" and "The one after 9:09". "Crazy in love" is a fun and catchy pop-country tune. "Photograph" exposes Carmen's songwriting talent, and I think some people who weren't impressed with her on American Idol will be quite impressed with her songwriting.

4.0 out of 5 stars I'm only sorry it has only 4 songs on it!!, August 21, 2005

This is one fine young lady who does not put on airs, is not in it for publicity or any other agenda unlike other AI contestants who shall remain nameless. Carmen Rasmussen's debut CD is a testament to her integrity, her soul and her kindness. She is refreshing and wholesome! The only reason I don't give this CD 5 stars is because it only has 4 songs on it...all of which are fabulous. Its hard for me to pick out a favorite but if I have to it would be "The One". Carmen has rightfully come into her own and this CD proves it. I only hope she releases a complete CD soon!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent country/pop crossover music!, May 18, 2005

Fans of country/pop crossover music will love Carmen, the EP from 20-year-old American Idol finalist Carmen Rasmusen.
Carmen, then 17, from Bountiful, Utah, charmed the American Idol Season 2 audiences with her bubbly personality and unique country sound. She placed 6th in the competition, after gaining thousands of fans across the country.

This preview of Carmen's forthcoming album highlights Carmen's talent for crossing country and pop, especially with her self-penned single "Photograph". "Crazy in Love" is reminiscent of Shania Twain, and the remakes "I've Seen Just a Face" and "The One After", written by John Lennon and Paul McCartney, are great renditions displaying Carmen's special sound.

5.0 out of 5 stars new Carmen fan, April 10, 2005
This review is from: Carmen (Audio CD)
I have to admit that I wasn't a huge fan of Carmen when she was on American Idol, but when I stumbled across her official site a few months ago and listened to her song 'Photograph' I was completely amazed at how much her voice had improved. When I received her single, I was even more amazed. 'Photograph' shows off her unique country sound and her great songwriting ability. 'Crazy In Love' is definitely a song that I could see played on the radio as a single, and again, shows off her amazingly unique country voice. That last two songs ('I've Just Seen A Face' and 'The One After 9:09') are most amazing to me, though, because they weren't originally country songs and Carmen totally makes them believable country tunes. I say that, even if you weren't a fan of Carmen on American Idol, you should still buy the EP, because she sounds great when allowed to sing the genre she was born to, and not held back by weekly themes. Definitely check her out, guys, it's worth the eight bucks.

I just got this today and all I have to say is that it is simply outstanding! Carmen has come a long way since the debacle of AI, a show that desperately needs cancelling. The songs here are first rate as are her performances! I'm looking forward to the next CD....a full 14 song one!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Make up your own mind, May 17, 2006
This review is from: Carmen (Audio CD)
I don't usually write reviews, but after reading the bad reviews on this page I thought I would leave a good one. I went to Carmen's website and listened to samples off her new album, and it sounded really good, with the right publicity it should do really well. I think the people who said she sounds like a goat haven't even heard any of her recorded stuff and are still injured that Carmen stayed longer on the second season of American Idol then their own favorites. But, if you really want to know how she sounds go to her website and makeup your own mind about it, instead of relying on the opinions of random people.

5.0 out of 5 stars Carmen, May 27, 2005
This review is from: Carmen (Audio CD)
When I saw Carmen on American Idol, I thought she will be a very good performer once she gets some years on her. It did not take her long to get only 2 more years on her to produce a great album. I enjoyed this album from beginning to end. She sounds a little bit like Country in this album, it sounds great. I didn't know she leaned towards country because she didn't on the show. I found her voice to be more mature, more enduring and so easy to listen too. I would recommend everyone to try her CD, you will not be dissapointed.
