This is the best carnatic flute recording I have come across so far. I hope there are more to come.

Though not even a dilettante in terms of traditonal musics, I feel music as genuine, and this disc has the intuitive criteria I believe in (though these criteria are essentially non-verbal). I'm growing quite fond of Carnatic music. I understand that the traditions in Southern India are consistent (they have there own internal cohesion), but very different from the north. And the sounds I hear are wonderfully playful in the south. Elsewhere I've read that some cultures in India are linguistically and culturally, related to South East Asia more than the Indo-European base of the north. My imagination takes flight at the possibility of some ancient, "lost" connection.
