I cannot begin to state how excited I am to find this available from Amazon.com. Carnation Chocolate Malted Milk has been a favorite of my Mother Velia all my life, and therefore it was expected on the breakfast table. I'm 35 now with my own family and I have an incredibly hard time finding the chocolate version in particular. To be able to order this "comfort food" and have it shipped means a great deal. Highly recommended to anyone who enjoys chocolate milk!!

Better than milk with Trader Joe's Midnight Moo syrup.
Better than Hershey's syrup.
Way better than Quik.
WAY better than Ovaltine, which should be drunk only by starving children in third-world countries and by people who like Vegemite.

This is the real deal. I have been drinking chocolate malt for over 40 years. First Horlicks, then when they stopped making it, the Carnation here. It's hard to find in stores, and we had been ordering in flats of 12. I am thrilled to find it in 3-packs on Amazon, and with FREE PRIME SHIPPING!

Great with plain skim milk, and if you add a little vanilla ice cream, it's SINFULLY good.

First-timers may want to note that this powder dissolves easily in milk, just stirring with a spoon. No machines, no fuss.

This product in chocolate is extremely hard to find. A local grocer used to carry it and every time I bought it someone mentioned how much they loved it. This is the best tasting chocolate malt product in the world! Thanks to Amazon.com, it is now easily available!

I purchased this because I remember loving malt powder and malted milkshakes as a child. In the grocery stores, however, I could only find Ovaltine and I was not a huge fan of it. After turning to Amazon, and reading the amazing reviews for this product, I spent $21 for three bottles and was happy to spend the money on a quality product. When it arrived, I was sadly disappointed. The product is mostly sugar, and although it has a reasonable malty flavor, it was far too sweet. If I wanted to add sugar to my milk and/or milkshake, I could have done that without spending $21. I now I have to say that I prefer the Chocolate Malt Ovaltine over this product by far. Worst of all... about a week after receiving this product in the mail, my local grocery store started carrying the vanilla version of this for a little less than $4. I feel like I got ripped off.

Unless you can find one of the rare places that might still make a chocolate malted milk to order, outside of the NYC area and apparently Iowa, I think the Carnation mix is the gold standard if you want a chocolate malted. Just use more than the recommended amount per glass if you want a richer taste. I tried using plain Carnation Malted Milk and chocolate syrup and another chocolate malted mix and neither was right for me.

Although I thought the chocolate malted milk was pretty good, I still like Ovaltine better. This product needs more malt flavor to it, in fact, I bought the malted milk (12 oz) to add to it. I know that this is not about plain malted milk, but the large size malted milk is way different than the smaller containers (I know, this makes no sense but it's true). The Carnation Chocolate Malted Milk will do in a pinch.

If you like malted milks, you'll love this product. I just bought a Magic Bullet, and I can make a delicious malted milk, with or without ice cream, in a matter of seconds.

Now if Carnation could only figure out a way to lose the calories.

I have to watch my calories and when I want a treat this is usually it. I don't feel bad having it because I add it to skim milk it's a more healthy snack than chips or cookies. One serving is pretty satisfying when I'm craving something sweet and chocolately.

I sometimes add this to my chocolate chip cookie recipe. I just add and keep tasting little bits of the dough until I think it's "right". It does tend to make the cookies slightly more crispy than if I didn't use it but they taste really yummy. I've also made coconut cookies and added this. My kids thought they were great but I found them a bit sweet. Next time I'll try cutting the sugar a little and see if that doesn't do the trick.

I'm currently working on using it for a coffe cake sort of recipe but so far my attempts have been not as good as I'd like.....cakes are just more tempermental than cookies and since we don't eat a lot of sweets it'll probably take awhile before I get it right.

I think this is good heated too and adding it to fat free half and half makes a tastey coffee creamer.

This is something I've used for years and will be in my pantry for as long as they keep making it.
