5.0 out of 5 stars Finest Atlas of Galaxies ever published!, June 27, 2011
This review is from: The Carnegie Atlas of Galaxies (Carnegie Institution of Washington Publication ; 638)(2 Volume Set) (Hardcover)
Whether you are a professional or an amateur, this is a must have. I was fortunate to have purchased the set when it was first published, and what a great deal it was! It is already considered among the classics in professional astronomy publications. I got to see the original prints at the Pasadena offices of Mt. Wilson observatories photo lab, and I knew right then that I had to get a copy when published. Very useful for checking possible novae and supernovae. Allan Sandage's favorite telescope was the 100" at Las Campanas, Chile and quite a few of the images were taken there. He considered the sky conditions there the best in the planet.
