This review is from: Carnival Coast (Paperback)
Back cover:
It had been a big decision for Claire to travel to the South of France to visit her Orphaned baby nephew and niece, as she had foreseen that she would meet with hostility from the children's French relatives. What she had not forseen was the overbearing attitude of the enigmatic Louis de Carceron. Got a kick reading these old harlequins by Charlotte Lamb. She was hardcore for back then. In some ways they haven't changed and others different from the harlequins of today. There's no sex and the we don't "hear" the hero's thoughts, and the heroine is somewhat indifferent, going along her usual business, until she realizes she loves the hero. Reminds me of the classic films. |
