4.0 out of 5 stars This Guy Is Good
I was pleasantly surprised to hear how Jean has blended the styles of diverse artists to create this collection of interesting and enjoyable tunes while paying homage to his island roots.

This is my first purchase of a work by this artist -- I was intrigued by the title. It was a good choice. A creative mix of reggae, hip-hop and contemporary R&B flavors...

I really like Wyclef, but he can't seem to make up his mind on this album. I'm only recently warmed to Hip Hop but have always liked Reggae. I really like how he defies description sometimes, but this album is muddled and often loses its way -loses its focus again and again. He also does a better job simpler as he did with a tight small band on Craig Ferguson's show in...

I really like Wyclef, but he can't seem to make up his mind on this album. I'm only recently warmed to Hip Hop but have always liked Reggae. I really like how he defies description sometimes, but this album is muddled and often loses its way -loses its focus again and again. He also does a better job simpler as he did with a tight small band on Craig Ferguson's show in a mid-February, 2008 live appearance.

I prefer an album to have a flow that you can listen to as an entity or oeuvre that you don't have to skip too many tracks on in the course of a long drive (I listen to albums driving 1-3 hours) when they don't get interrupted.

Welcome to Haiti: Creole 101 does a much better job of that - staying on a theme. I really do like a few numbers on the album in review, but the flow is awful. I'll probably cut and mix it with a few other similar albums to make another "Road Album" collection.

The three I gave it comes from a few 9's, several 7's - maybe one 10, several 4's and honestly one or two "1's".

The worst album of the YEAR. Even Khia had a couple tracks on her awful album that I enjoyed. I don't know what Wyclef was thinking when he actually agreed to have this album released to the mass public. Shame on you Wyclef, I'm actually thinking about suing you for having the nerve to think this was good music.

Years from now, this album will be ranked with and talked about the way we talk about all classic albums. I like the diversity and I don't think there is a clinker song in the bunch. It is on my iPod in its entirety. That honor is reserved for only a select few CDs.
