I just saw these guys live. First, the product description of this album is poor. The person that wrote it obviously never heard them live. They have great vocals with lyrics that are well thought out, deep with experience for such a young age, and executed with enough intensity to capture the attention of people sitting 75 yards away from the stage in the back of a dark room. The guitarist is downright gifted. He and the lead singer also played with Band of Horses (the headliner). They added several meaningful dimensions to their music that wasn't captured in the album, "Everything All the Time". This band will become important after a couple of more tours. All the indie subpop kids will start hearing the name "Simon Dawes" but unfortunately, an appreciation of non-repetitive structures and different time signatures other than the boring old "4/4" will only be afterthoughts of why this band is so talented.
