REVIEW UPDATE: All the complaints below are still valid; HOWEVER, the seller was contacted and offered a full refund for the returned disks. I upped the star rating from 1 to 3 for better than expected customer service. HOWEVER, they made the excuse that they are third party handlers and cannot be completely familiar with the product they ship. At least they stood behind the product and made the return as painless as a W@lmart return (almost.)

The set implies you might be getting a sequenced set. IN FACT you're getting a random selection of episodes that ARE NOT very good episodes and contain only 2 shows per DVD. That equates to $15 per show. Plus you get a lot of "blah blah blah" talk from the three main stars that just eats up space and time.

Additionally, the set received was suppose to be VOL 1-5, in fact VOL 3, 4, 6, 9, & 16. There was no way to discover I had not received an unsatisfactory order without breaking the seal and playing the DVD's.

The only way I can file a satisfactory feedback for this order is to return the order for a full refund which I am in the process of requesting.

I suggest EBAY!!!

This wonderful box set features ten full uncut hour long (ie., 50 minutes due to no commercials)shows. All of the original opening & closings and mid show comedy spoofs are here as well! Carol takes questions from the audience the way we remember the original shows. The video has been restored and looks like it was taped yesterday.

This 5 volume collection,issued by Guthy-Renker in 2007 contains 10 full-length, digitally remastered episodes on 5 DVD's, all hand-picked by Carol Burnett herself. Besides Carol,the series regulars were Vicki Lawrence, Harvey Korman, Lyle Wagggoner and Tim Conway. Volume 1 includes episodes 1002 and 722 and guest stars Dinah Shore, Roddy Mc Dowell and The Jackson 5. Volume 2 includes episodes 707 and 1018 and guest stars Ken Berry, Jack Watson, Rock Hudson and Steve Lawrence. Volume 3 includes episodes 716 and 917 and guest stars Carl Reiner and Steve Lawrence. Volume 4 includes episodes 817 and 902 and guest stars Rock Hudson, nancy Walker and Roddy Mc Dowell. Volume 5 includes episodes 1004 and 812 and guest stars Jim Nabors, Ken Berry, and Carol Reiner. Commericals have been excluded so total viewing is 500 minutes. A truy SUPERB collection!

Given the considerable number of classic (and far from classic) TV shows available on DVD these days, it's hard to believe that fans of The Carol Burnett Show are still left with only a couple of TV specials and this poorly edited "Collector's Edition" to choose from. The specials are fine and worth watching again and again, but why not give fans more? How about a set of discs devoted to each of the performers similar to what one finds in the Monty Python and Saturday Night Live series--i.e., The Best of Tim Conway, The Best of Harvey Korman, etc.? Or why not a disc or two devoted to the best Eunice and Mama sketches or the best movie/Broadway parodies, or one featuring famous guest stars? The show ran for 11 years and won 25 Emmys. Doesn't it deserve more than a couple of clip shows?

Each DVD has only two episodes of the show. Don't know if that is worth the cost.

This CD set was fairly pricey, and i expected to see a "best of" format, with sketches and other memorable moments plucked from shows. But this gives you the entire hour long show - the songs, the dances. etc. Some of this is boring, and you just fast forward thru it. You do get to see some decent guest stars, and tim conway and harvey are great, as is carol. Would have been better to just have the sketches on there.

I was very disappointed to discover there were only two episodes on each DVD. Since I am a Canadian consumer I paid more than my American counterpart, and it worked out to about $17.00 per episode, which is very disappointing. I was under the imnpression that I was going to receive the first 5 seasons of the show with every epsiode. This is a real rip off and the way it's advertised is very misleading. I don't recommend the purchase unless you or someone you know is a huge fan and you're willing to pay much more than it's worth.

For the price this person is asking for this you can get the first 9 Volumes for the same price as here if you just do a little searching on google. Don't get ripped off!
