I purchased this step for my 90 year old mother so she would have easier access to our SUV front seat. It assists her to step on, turn around and get into the vehicle with ease. I also to use it for her step into the bath tub. Just that little extra step up makes all the difference. It's very well constructed and weather/water proof. Great product! Purchased from amazon and delivered in a timely manner!

I just purchased a house and the front step up into the house is too high for my mom who had a recent broken hip. In my past, I also had a severe right tibial fracture and have hardware in the leg that makes my leg weak when I have to step up on high curbs, etc. This outdoor step is perfect. It is just the right height for this front door. In addition, the step is of study construction and says that it will hold over 400 lbs.

It is pretty stationary in that I have not had it slide or move with either me or my mother. This is a good thing because this will help prevent falls. There is a slide resistant cover on it that has holes that will allow for moisture to drain through. It remains to be seen haw it does in really bad weather and if the rubber like cover will hold up in the various temperature differences with the seasons here in Baltimore; but, so far, this has been an absolutely wonderful solution for this mobility issue of stepping up into the house and a relatively inexpensive one at that. Amazon was around $39 with free shipping. This is a great price as I have seen these same steps in catalogs such as Miles Kimball and they wanted nearly $50 and you still had to pay shipping.

The only draw back I can see is that it is only about 3-4 inches in height (this is perfect for my door situation); however, I have a side door that the step up is even higher than my front door. This step would not be high enough to really serve the purpose for this side door problem. So, I would suggest measuring how high the step-up is before ordering and make sure that a height of 3-4 inches will suffice.

I am a care giver for the elderly and have used this step assistant many times. My clients find it very helpful in getting in and out of my SUV and stepping into the house. Although it would be helpful to get in and out of the tub/shower, it is too uncomfortable to step on in bare feet because of the skid resistant surface.

We purchased this step in May, 2013. It is June 1st, 2013. We thought this step was a great idea for my husband and I. It claims to hold up to 440 lbs. The step is already broken due to the lack of any center support. By the way, I weigh less then 200 lbs. and my husband weighs 215 lbs. What a waste of money. I would not reccomend this step to anyone. It's dangerous

Never noticed how much taller the first riser is until I brought my husband home after seven weeks in hospital and rehab for a broken hip. After that harrowing experience, I looked for something to make entry and exit easier and this step is remarkable. Everyone now uses it and marvels. Great item.

Amazon.com is fantastic for home health aids and leads you to many items you'd never consider. This one's a 10 star. So simple an idea but very helpful and stable and no shipping.

I purchased this step to accommodate my aging parents when they visit. I have a 12" drop out my back door onto my deck, and it's very hard on their arthritic bones. The step initially was fantastic, however I mistakenly believed that "Outdoor" meant that it would last more than a few weeks exposed to the elements. The step is made of plastic, and when exposed to strong summer sun (even in New England)... it gets a tad "mushy". While it's listed to be able to handle a substantial amount of weight, my poor dad weighing a whole 140 soaking wet, found out the hard way that it wasn't sturdy. I can only imagine it wouldn't survive the cold/snow of the upcoming winter either, but I will never know since it's on the way to the dump.

This really helped me. The front step to my house is so high, I couldn't go or come at that entrance. I went through the garage. This step makes it possible to use the front door again, not to mention possible for visitors. The only complaint I have is that it is too low. A couple of more inches would have been great.
