When we first got the doorbell, we thought it just gave us a regular doorbell sound, but if you look on the little button on the side of the chime box, you can see a blue treble clef (music) sign. Each time you push it, you'll hear a different song. When you find one you like, just don't push the button anymore and it will repeat. When you're ready to change the tune, push until you find what you like. I liked that it had "Happy Birthday," 3 or 4 Christmas songs, several classical pieces (Brahms lullaby, Beethoven's "Fur Elise" etc.), but I wasn't quite as thrilled with the 3-4 state-specific songs just because none of them were about my state (e.g., "Yellow Rose of Texas")! For the small price you pay, though, it's definitely worth it to have fun with the different chimes.

This little doorbell is really great. I placed the first one I bought outside on the back door. I recently purchased a second one for the back bedroom. My father is disabled and he has to ring a bell if he needs assistance. In certain parts of our home you cannot here it, so I placed the second doorbell ringer at bedside for him. Now we now immediately when he needs anything. And since it plays different tunes, we can easily tell it apart from the doorbell.

Placed this at the front, decorative gate area, where I have a lock most of the time--unless I'm expecting AMAZON & E*ay deliveries. The receiver is at least 50 yds. to the house, w/a curve to a decorative alcove, where it sits behind a large planter. Tested it and it works great. Will be locking the gate & taking the battery out of the receiver--Halloween is tonite--don't want the bell ringing, as it will upset the pets.

***Update***
We've had this doorbell for a year now and still love it. The sticky tape has stuck well to the frame of the door. It is under a covered porch (tiny overhang really) and I cleaned the frame before adhering the push button. I haven't had to change either of the batteries yet and the button still works perfectly.

Still really glad I bought it.

We love our new doorbell. It took about ten minutes to stick the switch on the door and select a song on the receiver- that's all it took.

The switch has a hole for hanging by nail and also comes with a sticky pad attached. We used the sticky tape and it's been up for a week in wind, rain and heat- so far no problems.

I know that this doorbell is inexpensive but it is cheaply made. My mom wanted a doorbell that had the tune "Yellow Rose of Texas" and it has the tune but it is not a sturdy doorbell.

I got mine last December. It stopped working two days ago. I'm surprised it lasted that long because the button is fragile. But, the chime(s) is great.

I bought this for my apartment because I have hearing loss and can't hear my doorbell when I'm in my home office. The doorbell itself falls apart unless you push it very carefully. I had to put some scotch tape on the inside to keep the part that depresses from going loose. Don't buy it!
