A former VP in the bank industry, I find writing a therapeutic release. My genre is primarily non-fiction revolving around childhood experiences and ties to the Kansas City area. Several articles and essays have been published in magazines: "The Best Times," "Good Old Days. "Recently, The Kansas City Railway Historical Society published "Love at the Train Station", a tribute to my parents. I also enjoy the challenge of poetry, some of which is included in "Tallgrass Voices" published by Hill Song Press and by the Johnson County Library, in Overland Park, Kansas. Currently, I have completed a compilation of short stories and essays available as a print on demand, and titled "Kat Tales." It is available on Amazon, Kindle, and Nook. Volume II is near completion. Writing under a pseudonym as well, "Rising From the Shards," a true-story, is by Katharine Carroll. Now available on Kindle but further distribution coming soon.
Time management is key, as my interests vary. Writing is number one, of course. Revision is my middle name, while gardening, photography, needle work, painting, designing jewelry, cooking and interior decorating are passions too.
Fitness(if I don't watch my figure no one will)and health through diet and a regimental routine of exercise. If you don't use it you'll lose it, so they say.
A self-appointed caregiver, I cherish each of those moments. Struck by illness for a portion of my life, it is make-up time. God willing, my determination will remain focused on the opportunity to live each day to the fullest.
