Hard to believe someone would rate a music book poorly because it wasn't a biography. Like ordering a hamburger and stiffing the waiter because it wasn't lobster. This music book is what it is supposed to be: the sheet music for a Carole King album masterpiece.

a very faithfully executed songbook. I'm writing a review to reiterate the fact that the annotation is very good. And to counteract statistically, the moron, who gave the book one star because the song book only had sheet music in it. That's what it is supposed to have.

This is a songbook, not a biography [!!!!]. As such, it serves its purpose wonderfully: the transcriptions are faithful, the lyrics are complete and the songlist corresponds with that of the album of the same title. Enough said. Warning: This is a songbook containing the music and lyrics for Tapestry, Carole King's album. If you're looking for another book, for example an annotated version of Hamlet or Julia Childs' best recipes, don't buy this songbook.

It has all of our favorite Carol King songs and they are fairly nice arrangements. The only problem I have with it is that the book is not the same arrangements as the recording; They've watered down the accompaniment a bit so the melody can be included more easily in the piano. I would really like to have just the accompaniment as it is recorded on the tapestry album to play on the piano and sing along.

I have a very difficult time finding piano music that matches the recordings, but this book is great! The sheet music stays very true to the original and even has piano solos that you hear on the CD. A great choice if you like Carole King and enjoy challenging arrangements.

It doesn't have all of her hits. But it does have just about all of the classics, I highly recommend it for experienced piano players, it's not 100% true to the recordings, but afterall it's only the piano part, and it's pretty close!! If you are a Carole King fan, and you play the piano, why wouldn't you want this book! :-)

I tried not to report this here and to contact you via the link in the "review guidelines", but there was an error. I had previously sent you an e-mail informing you that I never got this item, although it was due ages ago. The local post office never received it. This leaves me worried as I had already been charged for the item (as well as the CD ordered with it). I am really worried and will stop ordering from Amazon until I find the shipment. It must have gone elsewhere!

As I am researching Carole King for a scholarly paper, I ordered this book hoping there would be an introduction or preface with some history or information on her. Alas, there were only the song lyrics and music for piano and guitar--nothing else. Presentation of each song offers a page with the lyrics in poetry form preceding the sheet music which includes lyrics and music. I gave it a 1-star rating only because it didn't suit my purpose. I am sure anyone wanting just the sheet music for "Tapestry" would be very happy with it. Hopefully, I will find time to tackle learning to play her wonderful music once the paper is finished.
