I had only heard good things about the Carolina Cottage line of affordable tables and chairs. When I checked the price and saw the poor reviews, I was surprised but I decided to go ahead and purchase the table last night. With Prime shipping, it arrived and was on my doorstep before I returned from appointments this afternoon. Fortunately, it wasn't as heavy as I expected and easily slid through my front door. The top and bottom arrived packaged individually but in the same shipping carton. Before I began assembling it, I checked over each piece and counted the nuts, bolts, washers, screws, levelers and tools. Everything was accounted for and in perfect condition. The table took less than 45 minutes to assemble which as a 56-year-old woman with some physical difficulties is quite an accomplishment! I already had one friend stop in and he couldn't believe what I paid for it. I will definitely continue to purchase items from Amazon as well as from Carolina Cottage.

I was wary of purchasing a table like this online because I had read so many horror stories of people who had purchased similar tables from Target and Walmart (cracked wood, missing pieces). But the reviews here convinced me to try and I am very happy I did.

Like another woman here said to do, I checked that I had all the pieces needed (they were there, as well as the tools needed) before I began putting it together. It did take a little thought because the directions are limited to drawings: (the tiny 'spring washers' don't get put on until step two, otherwise use the large washers) (also when inserting the wooden slats that hold the table portions upright, insert so that the hole is facing you and is reachable -- it's a finger hole).

But I was able to put the whole table together with little effort and quickly (I'm female, 47 years old and mildly handy). Mostly I'm impressed at how sturdy it is. And there are adjustable foot screws so you can make it level if needed.

I think the biggest issue for me is that the color is NOT WHITE. Here it says Antique Ivory -- the actual box says Antique Parchment. I had wanted white, but it is a soft ivory color and nice.

Also, Amazon has the best price. Other people are selling this table as "the Provence table from Carolina Cottage" for a lot more money. I'm only disappointed that Amazon doesn't sell the matching chairs in Ivory (only in black) because I would get those too!

I just received my table and do have to say that I am empressed. To tell you the truth, after reading the other reviews, I was quite skeptical about purchasing this table. Like the hard headed person that I am, I went ahead and purchased it anyways. I didn't know what to expect when it first arrived. I read about how some people received only the table top or others received only the base. I was extremely happy to see the delivery man carrying both packages. Some people also mentioned that once they opened the boxes, pieces of the table were damaged/broken. After throughly inspecting all pieces, the only damage that I was lucky to receive is a slight, tiny scratch on the table top [which I can fix]. I am very satisfied with my table. I wish the best of luck to the next person that purchases it. I hope my review was helpful. :]

Item shipped quickly and arrived in perfect condition. Assembly was very easy. The item looks more expensive than it cost. Great value for the money. I can't find anything wrong with it and it is the perfect size for my small eat-in. I can keep the sides down or up. Either way, it looks great.

After 2 broken tables from Target, 2 "wrong color" tables from Sears and problems with getting credit for returns, I was ready to give up buying furnature on line. But, I finally took another chance. All the pieces were there, nothing was cracked or broken, nothing was missing, it looked like the picture, it took me about 10 minutes to put together, they even included tools, it is very sturdy and I am sooooo happy with it. I just wish that it hadn't taken so long to arrive; but I love the table!

Looks okay, Not well made. 2 legs were missing adjustable screw case, was able to find at local hardware store. After time have found that if any weight put on drop leaf, then it starts to droop. Need to attach a piece of wood on back to plumb it up now. Would recommend it if not to be used in high traffic area.

This table looks good..but has a weird finish on table top. A sticker attached to the bottom of the table says "made from composite wood" . Probably too expensive to return..but don't be fooled..it's NOT made of one piece of hardwood.

I'm not sure what happened with 1st few orders, but my table arrived exactly as it appeared in the ad with all of the parts. It really is a GREAT TABLE. It was also very easy to assemble.

I love this table...it was a snap to put together and even the tools came with it.Well worth the money.Glad I by passed the neg. reviews..The table is very sturdy,I look forward to passing it down to my grandkids.

I'm really loving this table. I like the throwback style, and looks great in my kitchen. It comes with all the tools you need, and goes together in ten minutes. I got the chairs that are paired with it as well, and the whole set is working out great.
