This review is from: Carolina Cradle: Settlement of the Northwest Carolina Frontier, 1747-1762 (Paperback)
If you are a genealogist and have ancestors in North Carolina in the mid 1700's, you have to own this book! This is more about the inhabitants that settled the region and not a dry history of the area.
I found wonderful information on both my paternal and maternal lines. I had no idea that both sides of my family were living next to each other and attending the same church. This is a must have for anyone doing genealogy in early North Carolina.

This book is invaluable if you are researching your earliest North Carolina ancestors in the northwestern part of the state. Very well done, extensive sources and notes.

This review is from: Carolina Cradle: Settlement of the North West Carolina Frontier, 1747-62 (Hardcover)
Like New was a little over the top. Although this product was in Great Shape, and no complaints due, it was not as new. There were some small checks on certain references in the book, and it had the binding bent to the side to a small degree. I bought it over others available on the site, because of its like new description. I just feel that it was a little optimistic.

"Carolina Cradle" is probably the best book on this subject; valuable for genealogists as well as people interested in the history of this fascinating period. It is well-documented and should be on your bookshelf.
