Biography

Eric Church is on a mission. You might expect someone coming off of their first two Top Ten country singles and an ACM Award for “Top New Solo Vocalist” to lock down the formula and go for more of the same, but with third album, Chief, Church is trying something bolder and using the opportunity provided by his success to push his music even further.

The lead single "Love Your Love The Most" presents Eric's brighter side to country fans with memorable lyrics and a smooth melody.

First, let me say I am not a big fan of country. I discovered Eric Church when I attended Bob Seger's "Face The Promise concert in Atlanta.
Eric Church was the "opening act". What got my attention right off the bat was that his band could play rock and roll and they were great, but Eric's lyrics and vocal style got my attention. Hmmmm...great rock and roll with great lyrics delivered by a voice that just had magical clarity to it. The next day, I ordered "Sinners Like Me" and found myself listening to it over and over thinking to myself...."what's a classic rock fan doing listening to and enjoying COUNTRY?"

I downloaded "Carolina" from Amazon at 12:30 AM on it's release date and I've listened to it at least a couple of dozen times and it's only been out for a couple of days. Every song has something that will catch your musical ear. This is one of those rare albums that doesn't have a bad song on it. Five great rockers, five ballads, and two somewhere in between and all of the songs tell a story "Eric Church style".

"Those I've Loved" will haunt you and "Ain't Killed Me Yet" along with "Young and Wild" proves Eric "likes his country rockin"
"Hell on the Heart" and "Without You Here" are just great toe tappin' songs with hooks that will capture that "I need to hear that song again" feeling as your fingers hit the back button on your IPOD.

This is a pure country CD that will surprise you. It's good rock and roll mixed with country creating a magic sound that you've never heard before Eric Church

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Album, March 25, 2009

It is rare when an artist can put together an album as good as "Sinners Like Me" that is great from beginning to end and it is even more rare to do it twice in a row!

What I love about Eric Church is that you can pop in his albums push play and not have to skip songs you will enjoy every one of them. I will not say that this is better than "Sinners" but it is every bit as good. He seems to branch out and have a better variety of rockin' songs and more melodic songs.

One thing that "Carolina" does seem to be missing in comparison to "Sinners" is that stop you in your tracks song like 'Lightning' from "Sinners". Where it picks up the slack is 'Lotta boot left to fill'-which takes a jab at the pseudo-country/pop artists like Rascal Flatts etc.

This album stays true with traditional outlaw country but also looks forward to where the genre should be headed!

Best of the album: Lotta Boot Left To Fill, Those I've Loved, Carolina, Young and Wild

5.0 out of 5 stars Second done better.., March 24, 2009

I as a Country Music fan, thought that in no way, shape or form could "Sinners Like Me" be topped with a sophmore debut....I stand corrected! This Guy is not only a Mans, man, but has the soft side that guys can actually relate to. Honestly..I am not some follower or stalker of his music, but, I bought it along with John Rich's new cd..This is one talented son of a bi!@h. I would definately recommened this to any fan of Down Home country that is about life and love and growing up. Women will love this and Guys will relate and enjoy as well. Well written, and entertaining. Boots to fill and She told me where to go, awesome. Enjoy! Not too many Discs have this much Charisma!!
