Brent Kennedy`s book on Melungeons was a trail blazer on a subject that has long been overlooked in American geneology and early American history. Early mixed race heritage of today`s modern "white" Americans. However, this book, Carolina Genesis, goes above and beyond and describes in detail several multi ethnic early American families who for 300 years were marginalized, stereotyped and recieved extreme racism for their multi ethnic origins. Written by descendents of these proud people, Carolina Genesis tells the story of several of these groups in detail. A vauable source for ethnic geneology researchers of Native American, Mulatto, free person of color as well as multi ethnic so called "tri-racial" groups such as Melungeons. Carolina Genesis is also very valuable for ethnic oral history researchers such as "Black Dutch" and "Black Irish" In short, the greatest books on Multi ethnic research and history, ever

Format: Paperback
This is one amazing book had me hooked from the first page a broad over view of human stories some sad, but when you read them you realize humans can be so cruel. A good read.
