I ordered this particular latch-hook project for two reasons: 1) cheapest price through Amazon and 2) lots of colors in it. It's so beautiful that my husband wants to frame it. I loved seeing those pieces of yarn form themselves into this beautiful picture!

On the kit I purchased, the pattern didn't match up with the directions, making it a bit more complicated. You really have to pay attention while working on this one; otherwise, you'll be lost. It's tough to figure out which yarns constitute which colors, so pay attention to the thread count for each packet; that's the only way to figure it out.
Despite all that, the end result is gorgeous, and the seemingly similar-colored threads stand apart from each other, creating intricate detail. This is certainly NOT a kit for beginners, so if you're up for a challenge, this stag is for you.

This latch hook rug is very confusing. The colors on the hook rug do not match the colors of the yarn. You have to follow exactly what's on the chart or your picture won't look like the picture on the box. For the mountain in the background, they have orange instead of blue. Yellow, orange and purple instead of brown and light brown and black for the deer. This is the most ridiculous rug I've ever seen. When I used to do latch hook rugs the colors of the pattern matched the yarn that came with it. Whoever did this, just wanted to make things more nerve rackingly confusing and wanted to boggle your brain.

Great picture, especially hanging here in northern Michigan. It was really great fun to do and I've absolutely NO complaints with Amazon (always great to do business with, nor with the manufacturer, Caron. You'll have great fun doing it.

This was the first latch hook kit I had done in a while! Don't go by the pattern that's printed on the canvas that will just frustrate you I promise haha. I always followed the chart on the paper that it came with, no it's not color coordinated and it's black and white with symbols for each color. It was a little confusing at first but once I started remember what symbol went with what color it was much easier. The colors are NOT packaged separately which is what I've seen a lot a people not happy about. While I would agree that it would be easier for the colors to be separately packaged from one another, I don't think they're packaged that way so that you can have some extra of each color in case you lose any or what have you. What I found helped before I started (though it is a pain) is sort out all the colors first off and separate them in baggies and on each baggie I put the symbol that went with that color on the chart so I made sure that it was the right one. All in all after the confusion it was a really fun project that kept me busy :).

I have done several latch hook kits over the years and this one at first was a bit challenging with the colors being so similar to one another. But I made a box with dividers awhile back and it makes it so much easier to sort out a cpl into the box and grab from there. The finished project is going up on my wall. ;)

My sister and I have been doing latch work for years and although the colors are very specific, this is a fun thing to do when we dont see anything good on tv.

This is a great looking rug. I did break the latch hook after a few rows but that may have been my fault. This is the first latch hook rug I have done and I may have been a little rough with the latch hook. I wasn't able to pull it thru the rug smoothly. It is very large and the colors are very close in hue. It took me a long time to sort the colors and to figure out which is which. So for my first project, it is time consuming and complicate. I should have started with something a lot smaller and less colors. But I do love it and it is very, very pretty. If I ever get it done, NO ONE will be walking on it. It will go on a wall.

Very nice rug for the whale lover. It is a caron, which means a stiff matt to work with, so get a heavy duty latch hook.

I ordered this kit from Stuff4Scrapbooking and it arrived right on time. It took a very long time to complete (my sister estimated about sixty hours, but I think it was a little less), but it was absolutely beautiful. The picture on the front of the box is accurate, but I think the colors were actually more vivid in the actual rug.

It wasn't easy to tell the two light greens apart, however; I had to lay out all of the colors at the beginning using the color key included in the box in order to see which yarn was light green and which was sage. The pale pinks were also a little confusing, but with the key I could separate them.

It's complicated to make but quite beautiful. My mother really loved it.
