This book is a grand one for any one aspiring to wood carving. Basic methods for enduring construction applicable to any good work. Should be in every art and shop classroom library. Detailed photos showing the progression of construction for large animal sculpture in quality wood. The end product should stand decades of wear by young ones...look at how long the antique carousels have lasted! It is also fun to know what kind of hard work went into making the carousels we almost take for granted. A good wood carver is hard to find these days and this book may inspire someone to take up this creative and well-loved art.
