i first listened to this cd when i was 20 years old and got it at a convention in winston salem, north carolina. the band just came out with this cd in 92 and i didnt know what i had at the time until my trip home. it was one of my first cds in my collection and at the time i lived in gainesville fl. spring was in full blossom and the enviroment was just perfect. i usually walked or took the bus everywhere i went so i had plenty of time to engulf this cd into my life. after a while of listening to it and attaching myself to my surroundings. every track represented something assuring and positive in my day and i havent seperated from it since.

now at 32 ...i share this cd giving this cd new meaning in other people lives. the songs are totally reassuring that art effects life. the title track carousel...i play it every road trip i take...so soothing and perfect to make any road trip enjoyable and relaxing. "whos to say" is a piece that contines to bring up my thoughts of my adventurous trips from my young adulthood. i can close my eyes and see the wild turkeys in the fields in mississippi farmland while riding on the amtrak on my way to my northern destination. every track on this album is well worth its weight and then some. i encourage you to enjoy this album and intertwine it with something very positive in your life... and if youre out there "stein" i appreciate every note you and the trio played and i personally want to say thank you.

Love Stein's arrangements and this CD is outstanding.....relaxing....beautiful. The orchestration is exquisite and the melodies haunting. I bought this some time ago, but it is still in regular rotation in my car. Highly recommend.
