captures the joy and uncertainty of love,

This is Ryland Bouchard's (the Robot Ate Me) 3rd LP, which proves to be quite a departure from his more experimental side with On Vacation and even They Ate Themselves. Caousel Waltz, with a running time of just over 30 minutes, is one tight package. Something of a concept album on love, the songs are kept more minimal, with clarinet, trumpet, and orchestral arrangements accompanying Bouchard's light acoustic strum and gentle tenor. Songs on this album bear a lot of resemblance to some of my favorite songs from On Vacation such as "Apricot Tea" and "I'm Okay" - basically just his more straightforward optimistic work. So if you're like me and think that's what Ryland does best, you're bound to dig this album. As Ryland puts it, "this love is waiting for you"...this album is waiting for you too.

This album taught me everything that there is to know about love. You think I'm exaggerating, but I'm not.
