5.0 out of 5 stars Must have for serious computer users
I'm at the computer for around 6-8 hours a day. This product was a huge improvement over what I used to use. The wrist wrap itself is wide and stable. It is a bit hard to take off because the velcro is so secure but the piece goes all the way to your palm for stability. Nonetheless it is very comfortable and keeps my wrist from going at an akward angle. Highly...

1.0 out of 5 stars No support, No return/refund
I purchased this product based on positive reviews. I tried it out and was so unhappy with it.
My wrist had very little support. I could bend it up because there was nothing to keep it from doing that.
When I called to return it I was told that State hygiene laws prevented returns for this product. So I am stuck with something I find useless.

5.0 out of 5 stars This fixed my wrist pain, August 12, 2010

I'm a software engineer, and I spend 90% of my time typing. I ordered this when my wrist pain was at its worst, due to my continual typing day in and day out. When the item came, it looked a little smaller than I expected, but it fit my wrist comfortably. This being small actually turned out to be an advantage; I could easily remove it when I'm not typing and stash it into my pocket until I need it again.

After about few weeks of use, my wrist pain subsided substantially. And I've been using this for almost a year now, and the pain is completely gone!

The only issue with this is that, after many days of use, it starts picking up bad oder. So you need to wash it well every now and then. I just throw it into my washing machine every now and then when it starts smelling bad. That seems to do the trick.

All in all, I'm very happy with this product.

5.0 out of 5 stars Sleep at last!, October 25, 2008
I've been using this prodict for a few years now and it really makes a huge difference to my quality of sleep. No more waking at 3am with pains in my hand and wrist.
Its a very durable product and not at all cumbersome like some other styles.
It has helped me avoid surgical intervention and once I wear it every night the majority of the time I am symptom free

I use a wrist brace to prevent pain while typing, not to treat serious carpal tunnel pain. I was using a larger brace to do this, but it attracted a lot of attention. This small CarpalMate brace, though, is great. It's very comfortable and not nearly as noticeable. I'm not sure how it would do for treating wrists that are already sore, but for preventing pain and providing basic wrist support it works very well.

5.0 out of 5 stars Not Just for Carpal Tunnel Problems..., February 27, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: CarpalMate Professional Carpal Wrist Support Beige (Health and Beauty)
Having again experienced a neurological problem that results in wrist drop and the loss of function in my fingers, I was looking for a wrist support that was more comfortable than the full 8-inch models ot the molded plastic brace the therapist made. Further, as a petite person with 5 1/2 inch wrists, small braces do not fit without being pulled excessively tight and extra-small braces are hard to find. Both sizes cause bruising at several points on my hand and arm. Additionally during our south Texas summer heat, the longer braces are extremely hot and uncomfortable.

As I was looking through the results when I did my Amazon search for "wrist brace," I saw the CarpalMate Professional Carpal Wrist Support and thought it might work. It does! The structure of the palmar support and the solid support which runs about 2 1/2" down my arm from the wrist are comfortable without being confining. I can "exercise" my fingers by attempting to lift them or spread them apart. With the full braces, I was unable to do this type activity.

The universal fit is exactly what I needed for my smaller wrist; it looks like the minimum workable wrist circumference would be 4 1/2". By my measurements, the maximum wrist circumference this would probably work for is 9". The brace supports my wrist which relieves the pain I experience without a brace. There is no pressure on the wrist bone or the little finger joint on the top of my hand which has resulted in bruising with the full braces. I did find it more comfortable if I inserted some padding under the strap where my wrist bone was prominent. A large gauze pad worked very well.

This would be an excellent wrist brace for anyone who need some wrist support, but who does not need to have their finger mobility limited. While it is labeled a carpal tunnel brace, it will function for other conditions involving the wrist and hand.

3.0 out of 5 stars It's okay, September 5, 2010
This product is okay. It helps when there is minor pain and it isn't as cumbersome as a whole splint, but it doesn't do anything to limit the movement on the top of the hand. All in all, I'm glad I have this item, but when the pain gets really bad I have to put on the regular splint instead of this.

5.0 out of 5 stars Carpal wrist support, July 23, 2010

I use this carpal wrist support on a daily basis. I do transcription and type on the computer 8+ hours a day. These supports really help my wrists and are very comfortable. I have gotten so that I cannot type without having them on. Have no carpal tunnel pain when wearing them.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great alternative to carpal tunnel wrist support, February 17, 2009

This review is from: CarpalMate Professional Carpal Wrist Support Beige (Health and Beauty)
Needed a carpel tunnel wrist support. Have a full wrist support that's difficult to use with work gloves while building cabinets, fences, etc. Decided to try these and was pleasantly surprised that the support, although not as complete as full wrist support, was enuf to eliminate my carpal tunnel pain. What I like best about this wrist support is that is works great under work gloves. Would highly recomend this if your looking for a wrist support to use under work gloves.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good, but too hard to get off, April 21, 2010

Recently diagnosed with carpal tunnel syndrome, I invested in several items to keep my wrists from suffering further damage. This is the one I use at the computer (on top of the Handeze - a little glove - so I can't remark on comfort except to say it IS comfortable used with the glove). My complaint is - this thing is almost impossible to undo (VERY strong Velcro), especially with hands already affected by pain. I had to somehow wriggle my hand out, then pull apart the Velcro with pliers! I solved the problem by affixing a tab of duct tape on the end of the band, covering all but about 3/4" of the gripper (stiff) part, making a loose end to grab more easily. The manufacturer should add something similar.
