A fine introduction to Lara Fabian's French material, March 11, 2000
This review is from: Carpe Diem (Audio CD)
Carpe diem was Lara Fabian's second album, originally released in 1994. It presents a well-crafted and varied selection of her French material ranging from typically dramatic French ballads, such as 'Je suis malade' and the single 'Si tu m'aimes', to the lively gospel sound of 'Saisir le jour'. Highlights include the smooth and romantic opener 'Puisque c'est l'amour', as well as the light and catchy 'Leila' and 'Au loin là-bas'. The album features one song in English, 'Bridge of Hope', the closing track. Carpe diem provides a good introduction to the talents of Lara Fabian and is a must for any Lara Fabian collection.

Let me tell you something, this Powerhouse of an artist will, October 2, 2001
This review is from: Carpe Diem (Audio CD)
take the world by storm. She has such a set of lush, intense, technically perfect, powerful, versatile, unique, regal, expressive set of pipes. I am Chinese, born in France, immigrated to the US. I tell you that she is one those artists that only come once in a lifetime. Because she writes her own songs, she not only is the storyteller telling her own story but she interprets her creation to such a world class caliber. I do Karaoke. When I do her songs in the US, people take notice and always ask me who is this person that I always seem so passionate about. Her talent is unmistakable. The most beautiful songs in this CD are: Pas sans toi, Si tu m'aimes, Je vivrai, Tu t'en vas, Je suis malade. This voice has a timeless quality that she joins the ranks of Barbra Steinsand, Celine Dion, Whitney Houston, Patti LaBelle. God bless the new Force. May she be allowed to enrich the World with her themes of Love, World Unity, Equality, Brotherhood, Innocence, Hurt, Longing, Undying Passion, heroes. Lastly, I give her my undying credit for singing a song about Gays just like Celine Dion did. That took so much courage. That song took her to the top of the European Charts for 2 months. Celine's "Ziggy" made it to the top also for an amazing 4 months. I can't wait for Celine and Lara to do a POWER BALLAD. Peace to you.

Better than Babs!, May 22, 2002
This review is from: Carpe Diem (Audio CD)
Lara Fabian is exquisite! Barbara Streisand has nothing on her. The clarity of her voice is above all else. Let's hope she has been booked already for the choir in heaven. She is angelic! More albums please! "For Always" with Josh Groban is the most beautiful song I have ever heard and will be the new wedding song of the future!
