Don't purchase these treads,

These treads are sewn together with light weight fishing line. Ours started to come apart 2 weeks after we installed them.

I was a bit nervous about ordering these after reading the review from the customer who said his came apart after a couple of weeks. I installed mine with U-shaped tacks
(not the ones they sent -I bought black ones that were narrower and the black color doesn't show on the burgundy treads the way silver does), and mine have not moved, look great, and are holding up like new after nearly 2 months of use. These stairs get plenty of use too! They are on the only staircase I have going up to the bedrooms and bathroom on the second floor, so the family and dogs are trotting up and down them all day long! Great purchase.
