5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent Music, Excellent Race, Excellent Time, April 26, 1999
This review is from: La Carrera Panamericana [VHS] (VHS Tape)
Being a bit of a car nut and an avid Pink Floyd fan makes me somewhat prejudiced in reviewing this video. I'm the type of person who has Pink Floyd music buzzing around my head when I'm driving on long highways, curvy mountain roads, or fearlessly into the setting sun. I believe the film was produced while the boys were on break between "Momentary Lapse of Reason" and "Division Bell." It's great insight on how they spend their leisure time. It's incredible to think that these "mega" stars revel in an adventure such as this car race. It's easy to see how they gain their insight into everyday life of ordinary people. The movie has plenty of background information in the history of the race, and along the way they share their unscripted multi-cultural experiences with you. This video would be an excellent addition to anyone's collection who regards himself/herself a PF fan.

5.0 out of 5 stars See the Mexican countryside, March 25, 2008

Mr. Mark P. Daniel (Bastrop, TX United States) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
This is a documentary that Pink Floyd played the soundtrack to. It was recorded between A Momentary Lapse of Reason and The Division Bell. It covers the re-visiting in 1990 of the 1950's era road race - La Carrera Panamericana - which celebrated Mexico's opening of the Pan-American Expressway. Nick Mason and David Gilmour are two of the race team drivers. Follow the race from Guatamala to Neuevo Laredo and view the Mexican countryside listening to Pink Floyd. There are 6 new songs on here not heard on any other release ( Pan Am Shuffle, Country Theme, Mexico '78, Big Theme, Small Theme, Carrera Slow Blues )

5.0 out of 5 stars DVD Please!, December 16, 2009
I have this on VHS and unfortunately I haven't had a VHS set up for years.
And it must be played at a good volume through a good stereo.
A wonderful video for Floyd and vintage racing fans alike.
