This review is from: Carrie Chapman Catt: A Voice for Women (Signature Lives) (Hardcover)
There are plenty of interesting illustrations and sidebars. Probably this is a better choice for young readers than Barbara Somervill's book, although Somervill also has done a good job. For adults, the best book on CCC is Prof. Robert Booth Fowler's. Though Fowler has not attempted a full biography, his writing is better and his analysis much more insightful than that of Jacqueline Van Voris. Her book also is worth reading though. For the strongest impression of the suffragist spirit, see Peck's full length bio of CCC. A good read, hagiographic though it is.
