The Queen Gets Crowned in Blood Once Again!,
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Carrie (Two-Disc Blu-ray/DVD Combo in Blu-ray Packaging) (Blu-ray)
The legendary CARRIE in High-Definition! This classic Cinderella story with a dark, supernatural twist to it has been a favorite of mine since I first saw it. It has it all: An emotionally-driven story (unlike most horror films) that takes you to highs, lows, and everything in between, mesmorizing performances by the charismatic Sissy Spacek and Piper Laurie, and artistic cinematography by director Brian DePalma. It is surely the Ultimate Revenge film with exceptional acting and craftsmanship that puts our more modern movies to shame.
**Video and Audio Quality** To keep it plain and simple: Carrie on DVD looks more like VHS quality, and Carrie on Blu-Ray looks more like DVD quality. So it never reaches the crisp, crystal clear look of today's Blu-Ray releases, but it is definitely cleaner and finer quality than the DVD. So if you want the best Carrie experience then watch it on Blu-Ray! **Special Features** The Blu-Ray disc contains only the theatrical trailer. The DVD, however, is loaded with interviews by all the main cast members, director Brian DePalma, and others who worked on the film. There's a lot to learn from watching the interviews, including the conflicts and challenges they all underwent to make the film, a behind-the-scenes look on the special effects, and a deleted scene that was to be the prologue of the movie. There's also a photogallery and comparison between Stephen King's version of Carrie and Brian DePalma's version of Carrie, plus more. **The Combo Pack** It would have been better for everyone had they included the DVD special features on the Blu-Ray disc, but having it all on a combo pack is the next best thing, so if you're a Carrie fan or just love a beautifully crafted classical tale, this is a must have! Own this unforgettable drama/horror movie on Blu-Ray + DVD Combo Pack today!

This review is from: Carrie (Two-Disc Blu-ray/DVD Combo in Blu-ray Packaging) (Blu-ray)
This horror flick about a bullied unpopular recluse teenage girl Carrie White(Sissy Spacek)with telekenesis that erupt during times of anger or extreme distress, especially when being harrassed by the bitter hellbent popular bad girl Christine Hargenson(Nancy Allen)and when being abused by her crazed Christian fundamentalist mother Margaret White(Piper Laurie). CARRIE also starts out with a big bang in a high school girls lockerroom with a bunch of sexy teenage girls roaming around as naked as the day they born with the 3B's(Breast, Bush, and Butt)at the end of Carrie's P.E. class, especially Nancy Allen who has pretty pubic-hair and beautiful bouncing ta-tas while she gets out of the girls gym shower stalls drying off her sexy body about to towel-snap one of her P.E. classmates Sue Snell(Amy Irving)as Nancy approaches the center of the all-girls only lockerroom shown head-to-toe. As a matter of fact, CARRIE was a tad similar to Brian De Palma's DRESSED TO KILL since DRESSED TO KILL also starts out with an erotic shower scene in full-frontal nudity and ends with a shocking heart-stopping moment at the very end of both movies since Angie Dickenson's nude scene where she gets attacked in the shower just before she wakes up from a bad dream while being nailed by her husband is similar to how the mufftastic view we were given in the girls lockerroom scene with a bunch high school girls roaming around as naked as the day they were born just before Carrie White gets alarmed when she wipes the blood from her vagina while taking a shower unaware that she has started her adolescent period for the very first time not knowing the facts on puberty. CARRIE was also a major success for United Artist grossing $33.8 million bucks at the box office on a budget of $1.8 million that foremost recieved positive response from critics during its thatrical release in the Fall of 1976 along with the fact that CARRIE was also considered one of the most popular movies teens watched on Halloween. Additionally, Spacek was nominated for Academy Award for Best Actress and Laurie was nominated for Best Supporting Actress respectively in the Spring of 1977.
