4.0 out of 5 stars Great rainy day read, April 2, 2002
...

Heroine: lush, well-rounded

Hard-working ICU nurse Christy Russell has collapsed in a heap in her best friend's bed for some well-deserved rest after pulling a triple(!) shift at the hospital. But her sweet slumber is soon interrupted when the man of her dreams drags her from her cozy nest to his waiting car.

Trevor McQuillen is tired of his constant on-the-go military life. And though the handsome former Special Ops commander is ready to settle down in one place and get busy developing his new business, he certainly has no plans to fall in love. But how can he resist the tousle-haired, chocolate-eyed bombshell he just accidentally kidnapped?

What worked for me:

Once I suspended my disbelief over the unlikely opening scenario, I found the situation to be quite funny. (Well, it's funny as long as it never happens to me. Heaven forbid!)

There's plenty of sexual tension to be had in this Harlequin Temptation "wrong bed" series addition, and I had a great time watching the relationship develop between Christy and Trevor.

I loved the descriptions of Christy: curves-upon-curves, cleavage all over. There was a dress size attributed to her at the very beginning of the book, but it seems like an arbitrary number was picked and applied to her. The phrases used to describe Christy seemed to belong to a woman a few sizes (or more) larger. So don't let that smallish sounding number make you put the book down. If you were looking for a plus-size heroine, you found one in this book. Honest! :^)

What didn't work for me:

I couldn't truly get into this story for one reason and one reason only: the hero's name also happens to be the same as a member of my family! That's always a kill-joy. :^P (Believe me though, name aside the hero was very enjoyable!)

Overall:

This was a fast, fun read. It's the perfect way to spend a rainy afternoon. :^) (There are some fairly steamy spots, so reader beware.)

If you liked "Carried Away" you might also enjoy "Too Much Temptation" or "Dear Cupid".

3.0 out of 5 stars I read this in one day but I did debate on finishing it, April 11, 2002

I just really didn't like the main character Christy. I thought it was funny how they made the bride Kate seem snivelling and conniving for trying to bring secondary characters Viv and Eric together. Christy was doing everything in her power to keep them apart which I only took as her being jealous and manipulative. Jeez with a friend like her for relationship support you don't need enemies. Kauffman tries to redeem her a bit by telling her friend when she takes her husband back and moves to sweden she is happy for them but I still think she is jealous. And her insecurity about relationships is so ridiculous it doesn't sound like she had gotten hurt herself to make her act this way it was all second hand info that made her shy away from relationships and her fear of lightning ugh. I found nothing strong ahout her character. I really couldn't believe that Trevor would stay with an insecure whining workaholic lije Christy unless he was masochistic. I gave this 3 stars because some of the dialogue and scenes were quite funny if I could have just gotten past the annoying jealous main character.

What a fun read. A real Blast. Loved the characters and thought the story line was fun. Lots of laughter and lovin'. I really enjoyed this book but then all of Donnas' books are so great. I have read everything she has written and look forward to each and every book she publishes. WOW what a writer. I am constantly surprised by the different styles she can write. Everything from paranormal to sexy hot Blaze books. If you have not read this author you MUST ....

Thanks again Donna for another fun read.

Another reader in Florida...or where ever I am at the time...
