I suppose I should have known better picking up the 17th book in a series, but I needed something to read on a long flight - dreadful.

It was my fault that I hadn't read any of the previous books so I didn't know the characters involved. But what I object to, is the poor grammer, poor spelling and formula storyline. It might have had some redeeming qualities if the story was even remotely believable.

I don't know if it is up to Keith Douglass or the publishers to check, but there were so many typographical errors that someone did not do their job.

I used my copy to start a fire while camping - the book was more valuable to me for it's flammable characteristics than its literary content.

I must admit that for the longest time I looked forward to the next release of the "Carrier" series. I have sensed that the last few releases seemed to be "rushed" to meet publication deadlines. The first books of the series were excellent. Good story lines, well thought-out plots, good character development, etc.

This latest in the series was all over the place. Jump from one scene to the next and not know where you are in the story. It's like watching a 2 hour movie, and stepping out for 5 minutes every ten.

I was very disappointed in the grammatical errors and lack of care taken to ensure good quality work. I felt that another person was writing under Douglass' name because the quality is vastly different from the first books in the series (same for Seal Team Seven as well).

I will have to think twice and review the next issues very carefully to decide if I want to continue supporting the series.

A little more time to develop the stories and plots should be taken rather than turn out new releases so quickly.

I'm a big fan of the series but #15 & #16 disappointed me. This one (#17) seemed to be making a comeback. The war scenario seemed a lot more believable than #16. I agree with the other reviewers that the editing is shoddy when it comes to grammar and such. But like the last two books the story ended abruptly leaving the reader hanging. The USS Jefferson was lying wounded in the middle of a minefield and the second wave of the enemy attack force was on the way and then the book ended without telling us how the battle ended. Some of the important characters in the series didn't take part in the action and ended up as an afterthought at the end.
