5.0 out of 5 stars Nok Hockey Revives Summer Camp Memories!
As a summer camp kid at Camp Becket in the Berkshires of Massachusetts, one of the great all time pastimes was playing Nok Hockey in the camp library overlooking Rudd Pond. We developed all kinds of sneaky techniques for outwitting our opponents and the games were long and merciless. I'm delighted that this game is still available and my seven year old son and I are now squaring off at home--proving that Nok Hockey is still as enduring as those sweet memories of camp.

Noc Hockey is educational and fun. My children and the students I tutored in the summer, enjoyed the game very much. The only problem I have is that I cannot find extra Noc Hockey pucks or sticks for the game. ....

There's that shot down the side, off the triangle and then off the diamond in the middle, hey angles. Look, I played a lot of Nok Hockey as a kid and got a physics degree at MIT. Coincidence, I DONT THINK SO!

A Kid's Review
This review is from: Carrom 2.01 Champion Nok-Hockey Game, Standard (Toy)
Please be aware this package arrives with NOK HOCKEY written all over it! This was a gift for my 10 year old son for Christmas. When UPS delivered the package and my son opened the door he knew immediately what it was. One less Christmas suprise for him. Just wanted to warn other parents.

This is just how I remember it when I was growing up in Brooklyn. The only difference is that the sticks are plastic not wood. The plastic is a very durable, thick plastic though and I think they are actually better then the original wooden ones that would get all beat up. I like that I can store it under the bed and that it doesn't need batteries too. My 5 year old daughter also loves it and so does everyone who comes over our house, both adults and children.

when I was growing up in Brooklyn many years ago, before PC's and laptops, this was a very popular toy. For me and my sister, it still is. It's simple to use and provides a lot of fun. You don't have to plug it in, or put software in it, or worry if it's going to boot up or not. there is no batteries.
my point is that it's a simple, basic toy and it's entertaining and fun to play with. It brings back memories when life was much more simple.

I was specifically looking for an "old school" game that didn't take a power cord or batteries. This was a real hit, all the kids who come over enjoy it. It is a little big and is kept under my daughter's bed but a great toy in many ways. Gender neutral, fast moving, develops better coordination and the kids shout with job when they score.

What could be better? Here's a toy that takes you back to your own youth, that will even bring a sparkle to the eyes of your grown children, and that will delight six-ten year olds even though they've been brought up on noisy, mechanical, TV/video/computer stuff. You can open the box, you don't need a PhD to read directions, and the game begins! True, the nok-hockey sticks are now plastic, the basic board is a tad smaller than you remember, and the puck will probably disappear in a day (hide that second puck in a place you'll remember and take up woodworking; the cost of replacements is ridiculous). It was thrilling to hear the thwack of the sticks and squeals of joy. Stick it under a bed or couch when the kids tire of it (but they won't for a while) and enjoy it - it's the simplest of games and definitely still one of the best.

5.0 out of 5 stars A simple, yet really fun game!, January 9, 2007
This review is from: Carrom 2.01 Champion Nok-Hockey Game, Standard (Toy)
This game is really fun. Problably, the best part is that it is easy to play and there are no parts to get broken. There is no need to set anything up, just pick up the sticks set out the puck and play! This game is great for young children all the way up to adults.
