This disk contains three animations and one live-action movie. The latter, "Isabel knew too much," presents a dog's-eye view of - well, not much. I found it a disappointing end, after three very enjoyable shorts.

The first two, "L19: Disposed" and "Android 207", have a lot in common. Each features an engaging robot character in some dangerous environment, just trying to make it out alive. Yes, I use the word 'alive' for these metallic heroes, since the animator really has brought personalities and a bit of pathos to both of them. A207 is much longer, and develops the Kafka-esque sense much more strongly, but they're both good.

"Table Kid Kirby" has much that same sense of futility and striving. The little clay man comes to life on, and is trapped on a workbench. Across the room, and utterly inaccessible, a mysterious machine stands silently ... All five vignettes in TKK offer cleverness and imagination, if not the most polished of technical presentations.

Two of the four features also appear on the Android 207 disk - to my mind, the stronger two (A207 and TKK). If you already have that collection, this might be optional. But, if you're new to the quirky, low-budget charm of these short indy features, go ahead. There's a lot to like.
