Great album-great artist,

To be honest I had never heard of Dale Watson until I found his name while I was
consulting Google on Gene Watson who's my favorite C&W singer. I tried out some songs on "the previous listen button" provided by Amazon of this CD and since I liked the first 4 songs I decided to buy it. I must say that I was immediately caught by his baritone voice and great songs. There's a lot of Texas shuffle and Honky Tonk which happen to be my favorite types of country music. The song that I like most, though, is really the only ballad available on this CD called "For A Little While". Dale's country music is definitely a revival of the 70's & 80's sounds in C&W and therefore succesful.

Country music lives,

If you've ever lamented the demise of true country music, take heart. Dale Watson is carryin' on the tradition in a most classy way. Murder may have been committed "down on Music Row," but country music is doing quite well in Texas thank you. You won't be able to take this cd out of your player and you may feel the need to plan a road trip just so you can listen to "Hey Brown Bottle" loop. On the other hand, you'll also feel like dancing when track 12 rolls around, the "Don't Wanna Go Home Song." There's a bit of Glen Campbell in here and a touch of Elvis, but a whole lof of Dale Watson's heart. The production is stellar and the musicians top of the line. I love this man's music. I send out Dale Watson alerts to friends when I know he's coming to their local honky tonk. I also have his "Promiseland" and "Whisky or God" cds, along with most all of his older ones.

Washing out the bloodstains on country music,
A Kid's Review
This review is from: Carryin' On (Audio CD)
I first saw Dale Watson at Lee's Liqour lounge in Minneapolis nearly 10 years ago this month and
discovered why country music sucked on the radio and where it was reborn! Dale Hank III and Wayne the Train have finally allowed this METAL HEAD to say... "Hell yea I've discovered *Real* country music." The Whiskey or God platter has been a life support to me for many months now and with the long awaited release of Carryin'on the songs feel like old hat! And they should,He's been playing them on the road for some time now! Do not miss a chance to see Dale live as he tours more than a man should!(I'm sure he owns no home..just lives on that bus!) A living legend! Dale, congrats on an outstanding cd!
