Review

"I enjoyed very much reading your book on Josiah and revival. Love your heart for spiritual awakening and revival!  It was a fascinating read - especially given my own prophetic interest in Josiah. May it multiply!!"
- Dr. James T. Bradford
General Secretary of
The Assemblies of God

From the Author

Josiah took the throne at the tender age of eight, and during his thirty-one years as king, he led God's people back to Him.  His focus was on doing what was right in the eyes of God, and walking in ways that were pleasing to God.  The result was that he led a mighty national revival, not just a natural kingdom.
This book explores Josiah's reign as recounted in 2 Chronicles 34.  From this chapter of Scripture we find some powerful truths and principles in leading a move of God.  Josiah definitely carried the torch for revival, and he did what was necessary to see that torch turn into a blazing fire.

More About the Author

Rodney Burton was born in Indiana as the youngest of eight children. He earned an Associates Degree in Practical Ministry from Brownsville Revival School of Ministry (1997-1999), and he is ordained with the Assemblies of God. During his time at Brownsville, he married Kim, and the two of them have been involved in ministry since graduation. They have served as staff pastors in St. Peters, Missouri, as lead pastors in Franklin, Kentucky, and they currently serve as lead pastors in Carthage, Illinois. Rodney's heart is to see the church come alive with the power, presence and fullness of God and his writing is geared that direction.

Rodney's first work, "31 Keys to Possessing Your Promise" is a devotional designed to journey the reader through keys he needs to apply to his life to inherit God's promise in his life.

His second book, "Carrying the Torch for Revival," focuses on the reign of King Josiah as recorded in 2 Chronicles 34. From his reign this book explores some key principles in experiencing and leading people into and through a time of revival and awakening to the things of God.

His third book, "Just Keep Digging," walks through the story of Isaac digging the wells of his father Abraham as recorded in Genesis 26. Each well along the journey represents an opportunity to give up in the pursuit of God's presence and covenant. However Isaac just keeps digging. This book challenges the reader to continue to dig and pursue all that God has for his own life.

His fourth book, "Sustaining God's Presence" focuses on some characteristics in our lives that will attract and maintain God's presence. God desires to dwell with people and not to just visit them. As we walk through some practical keys in our lives that appeal to God, we will find ourselves enjoying His presence in an ongoing way.

The passion for revival in the pages of this book is contagious. If you are hungry for more of God you will love this book. Rodney follows the life of the Old Testament King Josiah and shares personal stories to clearly communicate principles that are important in creating a structure that allows God to move freely and in power. Rodney does an incredible job of using scripture throughout the entire book to emphasize and validate the need and results of revival. Carrying The Torch For Revival is biblically sound book that covers the topic of revival and is sure to cultivate a hunger in your heart to see a fresh move of God in your life and ministry! Read this book; you won't be disappointed!

Excellent book...if you have the heart of revival for your church (for America) this book is a must read. Rodney takes you on a journey that includes how he was a product of revival. I don't know of any pastor who does not have a heart for revial. Whether in your church or America. I recommend you read for yourself refenced bible passages and study them. Good sermon material as well.
