This is basically the history of the motor car., December 11, 2005
This review is from: Cars and Coachbuilding: One Hundred Years of Road Vehicle Development (Hardcover)
This book shows the history and evolution of the motor car. It is about 250 pages, and nice black and white pictures, averaging one per page. Some color pictures too. The pictures are all very professional, showing a lot of detail.
The Table of Contents reads:
1. Before the motor car.
2. Carriages to cars: 1881 to 1914
3. The First World War: 1914 to 1918
4. The Vintage Period: 1919 to 1930
5. Motor-cars for all: 1930 to 1940
6. The Second World War: 1940 To 1945
7. The motor Vehicle in Maturity: 1946 to 1981.
(It ends there becuase it was published in 1981.)
I was looking for a book about how to do coach building, so this was not for me. But if you want to learn all about how cars evolved, this is perfect.
