5.0 out of 5 stars Cars Detroit Never Built:50 Years of American Experimental Cars.(Hardcover book),1990, July 23, 2010
This review is from: Cars Detroit Never Built: Fifty Years of American Experimental Cars (Paperback)
Cars Detroit Never Built Showcases Beautiful Concept Cars from the 1938 Buick Y-Job Of Harley Earl to His Le Sabre up to Cars from 1990,Although for some reason the 1959 StingRay Racer/Concept is not in there or AMX/3 or any AMC. Just The Big 3,and DeSoto(Chrysler). Lots of good cars and some not so good or downright wacky.Cars that were suppose to be nuclear powered to Turbine cars(featuring My Favorites : 1954 GM FIREBIRD I,1956 FIREBIRD II 58' FIREBIRD III) and AstroII Corvette, but no AeroVette,Wankel/FourRotor Rotary Corvette or TurboVette. Does have Cerv I and III(no midengine CervII don't know why)and Mako Shark I and II(but not the manta ray version). other than that,a Quick Overview,it's a nice pictorial.

5.0 out of 5 stars Brought back a lot of memories because I worked on them., December 27, 1998

This review is from: Cars Detroit Never Built: Fifty Years of American Experimental Cars (Paperback)
Way back when, after the war when these prototypes were being built, I as a young lad was working on many of these prototypes. I admired them and reading this book has helped relive many of the memories.
