Buy this book for the photos. The text, in English, German and French, is informative, but not comprehensive. It's more of a visual history of automotive design than a technical history of automobiles. Very well printed on high quality paper with a good hard cover binding. Apparently out of stock at Amazon now (8/09) but keep an eye out for it; it's worth getting and the price is reasonable.
