When the movie "Cars" became a PIXAR hit in 2006, it was followed by the inevitable low budget DVD ripoff "Car's Life" that same year. With the stunning lack of originality already coming out of the film world, I have very little respect for this new brand of copycat cheapies. In many cases, there appears to be a deliberate attempt to trick consumers into accidentally buying the wrong product. It seems inconceivable, therefore, that we are now up to "Car's Life 3: The Royal Heist." In the latest production by Engine 15 Media Group (they seem to specialize in this type of fare), you get exactly what you might expect from such a film. Within minutes, I was tempted to shut off the movie due to its amateurish vocal performances and annoying background music. It simply never stops! But I stuck with it and I was actually pleasantly surprised. Once the story went full tilt, it demonstrated a lively playfulness that was actually entertaining. I'm certainly not proclaiming this to be a great movie, but it is more fun than you might imagine due to the second half which becomes a cross between a caper and a courtroom drama.

The movie introduces its colorful cast of characters, led by plucky youth Sparky, in the opening scenes. Everything is supremely over-the-top with broad characterizations and outlandish accents. Sparky yearns to be a racer and is thrilled when a charity event is to be held in their quiet little community. This might be just the thing to put the village on the map, and royalty will even be attending. The town gets worked up over the arrival of the illustrious Queen Limousine and Sparky becomes an aid to her advance man who is preparing for the race. The haughty Queen is initially dismissive of the town, but things get even worse when her royal jewels go missing.

Hated it. The plot is predictable, the points jump from one to another. Its a rip off of Cars. Everytime I watch A Cars Life Movie, I have bad depressions episodes. Animation sucks. Poorly made, waste of money. Do not buy.
